The game is written in DirectX12 only, which means you can’t play it on any OS than Windows 10, and all common Windows 10 editions come with Windows Store pre-packed. Unless you are Steam addicted or have something personal against Windows Store, putting the game on Steam won’t make any significant difference.
Not a lot of people use the windows store the game being on steam would be strictly for advertising services + steam = (loyal fan base) along with the best deals and offers
on another note I just think some people could not even know this game is xbox play anywhere or that a pc version is available mainly its just for playerbase options so in any sense it wouldn’t hurt for the game to be there anyway microsoft would just end up making more money in the end because yea some people really like steam that much they like the layout and already have a friend base on there it just makes more sense instead of using the store + xbox app on windows where PC games are more prominent on steam and you already have your friends from all sorts of games on there and what not idk just a thought
Steam is the place for PC games. The Windows Store is a wannabe that many PC gamers avoid because of Microsoft’s past handlings with the PC community.
It’s like Facebook vs. MSN Spaces…
Putting HW 2 on Steam would be a smart move, but Microsoft needs exclusives so that hey can force people to use their Store.
I am not a PC gamer, but I have seen Steam couple of times. I feel Steam is years ahead to Windows Game store… Steam is completely a platform for games.
I think if Microsoft wants to make it reality they need to forget about making people to go to Windows store like to buy a cheese app. They need to create sort of the xbox app for windows but with more mooooore things just like Steam is doing. I was even imagining the idea of creating a platform just call XBOX for windows. Where the things you see on front page are the games are coming out and store game well described and with useful info just like steam, going to the sides you have the normal current social experience we have right now on xbox app.
RIGHT NOW, both platforms make the “same” thing. But Steam just feels right. And windows game store just feels like a cheap app store.
About people posting here. I feel they are always the same. If you get the names you actually realise they are the same users over and over. It is annoying. But maybe Microsoft realeses that they need to be stronger in Software.
