hi some of you may remember that the halo reach server went down in newzealand last month and now its happened for me in australia as well ever since buying halo anniversary i cant play matchmaking. ive been talking to my friends and they cant play aswell. ive tried calling them but id rather talk to a brick than them plz help before i kill myself
I’ve only had the rare occasional problem of not being able to access the servers, a few people I know from Australia and New Zealand quit playing the game partly because of it.

Server still down eh? Seems to be more often… sometimes works to reboot xbox… whats going on here halo?
I’ve been having the same problem, ever since I got Halo:CEA, every time i go into the matchmaking lobby, it says that the “reach server is unavailable at this time, come back or w/e”. And it’s not just with Reach, if I put in my Anniv. disc it says the same thing. Hell I can’t even play H3, it says it can’t load the info from the server.
Is it possible I’ve been banned from matchmaking or is it really just because the server have been that bad. I think its the servers though, cause i’ve done nothing remotely ban worthy and you can check that.
P.s. I’m in Alberta, Canada if that has anything to do with why the servers have been so crappy.
Holy crap! Exact same problem I am having. It is frustrating me to no end as I have just bought CE Anniversary (like you probably have) and I can’t play! (For reference: I live in New Zealand).
Halo CE Anniversary runs through the same multiplayer servers as Reach does. Halo 3 is also down for me. I see people online, still playing though, so I have no clue what is going on.
I am having same problem, I live in aus. But I have not purchased CEa so I don’t think it’s related to that.
There was some maintenace a few hours ago for H3, ODST and Reach, issues might have been resolved since then, try it out now.
Was playing fine all morning now the server is “unavailable” 11/23/11

Now i’m a patient guy, but this is getting ridiculous. Ever since i bought Halo:CEA and downloaded the maps/skull/etc… I haven’t been able to play matchmaking of any kind in the Halo universe (Reach, Anniversary or H3, Halo wars though i can play fine).
Is something wrong with my xbox? Was my gamertag banned and i didn’t get a ban message? Is it my internet? (which i dont’ think it is cause I can play Halo wars and MW3 matchmaking just fine). Is it actually the servers that are crashing? Is it cause Halo:CEA came out with a bug or something in the new maps???
I just want to get a straight answer, whether that is from a 343 employee, mod, or someone who actually know what the hell is going on? It would be GREATLY appreciated, cause honestly I can only play so much MW3, halo is sooooooo much better and way more fun for me.

I’ve heard of this issue. Unfortunately, I have no solution. All I can ask is where are you located? I think it has the potential to be ISP Specific. But it is a strange issue, downloading the maps shouldn’t effect your experience. What is your connection like, according to Reach?

This same problem is still persisting…“Halo Reach Server Unavailable at this time.” - i haven’t been able to play halo multiplayer in almost 2 months?? I’ve been a devoted halo fan for years… and i tell you what, it’s more then frustrating. Every other multiplayer game works fine, been playing cod3 and bf3… It’s not my connection, it does seem to be an issue due to bungie’s handover to 343?!

Check to see one of two things.
A: are you on an “ultimate plan” with a DOCSIS 3.0 modem
B: Does your IP begin in 101
This has been an on-going issue for a few months now apparently with thousands of people all voe rthe world all with ips that start in 101.
343i asserts that it is the fault of the ISP’s, however I personally did not start experiencing the issue until I upgraded to the ultimate plan with my isp on the DOCSIS 3.0 modem witha 101 ip prefix.
I am still with the same ISP and was able to play Halo reach matchamking as soon as a week ago, got the new plan, got the new modem and then was unable to connect to the severs.
It seems pretty cut and dry to me
