Hello. This is an issue that ive been having ever since I got MCC when It launched. However the issue was not present during the MCC beta flight 3. Also it seems to be a very rare issue.
I have to run games in borderless because I have a HDR10 display. If I run games in full screen. HDR turns off and the colors become all ugly and etc. And if Im in windowed mode, I get the ugly bars. Basically I need to run my games in borderless no matter what.
Problem is, in borderless in MCC acts like fullscreen. Even windowed does. The way I can tell is that when I run borderless or windowed (Full resolution windowed). The computer disables HDR10. This is not suppose to happen. The computer thinks the game is running in fullscreen not borderless. Again this is an issue with the game. Try it on any other game and borderless works fine. As a fact. Borderless worked COMPLETELY fine on the Halo MCC flight 3 that I was invited too. So It seems as its an issue with this build.
Very few people are having this issue. I found another person that has it. If you dont get what I mean above, read his. Because its the exact same issue.
Ive also filed a bug report with 343 2 weeks ago. The bot said they are still continuing to investigate. So I dont know how long it will take but honestly I want to play halo MCC PC properly right now. I dont want to wait 1-2 months for 343 to fix it. So this is why im here.
What ive tried
- Disabling full screen optimizations
- Using compatibility settings
- Changing DPI settings
- Using applications that force borderless like borderless gaming (Even with those apps, it still does not work)
- Updating graphic drivers
- Updating all my drivers
- reinstalling the game
- removing the MCC flight stuff from appdata
None of these have worked.
What I believe whats happening.
1 thing ive noticed is that when your in the menu. Borderless works fine. But as soon as you load into any map. Borderless turns into fullscreen. It seems that the UE4 powered menu is not the problem but its an issue with Halo Reach itself. Not a dev, but just a thought.
Again ive already reported this to 343. If you are having the SAME issue. PLEASE report this to 343. The more bug reports they get the higher it will be on their priority list.
This has ruined the experience for me. If anyone has ANY possible solutions. Please let me know. Even if its big or small. PLEASE let me know. Ive spent hours trying to fix it. I can also upload a video if you need too see it.
