The needler takes 3 to 4 seconds to explode when in the previous halo games it took 1 to 2 seconds.

What are you talking about? it is a pretty powerful CQB weapon.

I played a whole bunch of matches and only a rare few people killed me with it. Also during the matches I rarely see people use it.

No clue what matches you are in, but I use it a lot personally and it almost a 100% kill when you get the red ring.
I know that but the point is that it takes longer for you to kill them with, I’m not saying it doesn’t.

Halo has always had a long TTK, it has ranged from 3 to 6 seconds depending on game the average here is 4 which makes the needler ok when compared to other weapons.
That is still not good, it would give the enemy plenty of time to kill you from any weapon they would have.

Yeah, its time to kill at medium range can be pretty long, likely around the same as AR at that range with its high spread, and its shots can be dodged around fairly easily at range with fast movement so the Needler is not much worth picking up in my opinion.

Needler right feels weaker to most weapon in its own effective range.
This much is true.
But this much has always been true across all Halo titles. Needler in Infinite is the best version of it tho.
Halo 4 and 5 had better needlers

The needler is a great weapon but it is an smg. You might be too far away
