I predict that Cortana defeated The Weapon, took her place and name, and is going to use that position to slowly manipulate the player/John into putting together her pieces that might be broken from the major battle that occurred prior to the game’s start. Then Chief accidentally restarts Cortana since she is actually The Weapon.

I am hopeful that this is the case. I am usually great at predicting plots and plot twists… my family hates taking me to movies. They hated when they took me to Wonder Woman and I predicted the plot twist within the first act of the movie.

Well… the trailer said someone took Cortana and she was supposed to be deleted, said it was supposed to of been the Chief. He didnt do it. Then said she herself was supposed to of been auto deleted on deployment… so not sure what that means overall

It was a failsafe. From the sounds of the dialogue, once The Weapon made contact with Cortana, she would act as a virus that would deconstruct and delete Cortana at her core. Then to ensure that she herself couldn’t be corrupted, the failsafe would kick in.
So I predict that either Cortana just beat The Weapon and took her place OR that she managed to corrupt The Weapon so even though she was deleted, a piece of her continues on and alters The Weapon to her specifications. Plus, in another trailer we hear Cortana directly address Chief in a conversation so it is likely that she is not gone.
