In the latest interview with frank o’connor (presumed to be him) he said there will be plenty of easter eggs
Q: I loved the addition in Halo: CEA of the cryo readout for Linda. Will we see any Easter Eggs that specifically reference the expanded universe, especially the books?
A: Yes. There will be plenty of easter eggs and hidden goodies.
I’m excited for this, one thing i loved about halo was the humor it has in the games i’m really excited to see what easter egg’s there will be, they should be really funny.

I’m really glad that 343i still want to continue including lots easter eggs into their Halo games. In my opinion, Halo has has some of the best easter eggs. Some of ot favourites have been Megg, the talking Grunts, Skulls, Terminals/Audio Logs, and the Scarab Gun. It’s clear that 343i has quite a knack for making easter eggs. I just hope 343i can live up to Bungie’s legacy at creating easter eggs.

You gotta love that big–Yoink- bunny when he shows up every April. Is he just leaving eggs in the game or…?
I really hope they pull off a Metroid reference somewhere in this campaign; the campaign level designer is the same one who did Metroid: Prime (who I also believe did Metroid: Primes 2 and 3 as well, but don’t quote me on that, though).
I love cross-console references in games n.n
