Please tone down jeff

Its ridiculous, I dont want to hear him everytime i get a kill. I imagine in halo 6 he’ll be announcing “left foot, right foot, you jumped, crouched!”. It used to fun listening to jeff in the original trilogy, now its just annoying.

But… You don’t hear him every time you get a kill. He doesn’t announce generic kills or headshots.

343i should stop auto tuning the guys voice , his voice is perfect in halo ce all the way up to reach now he it’s all screwed up because 343i keeps messing with his voice … Let the man do his job

Might be better than the game telling me “nice head shot” lol. 343i nails guns. They always sound amazing. The rest of their audio design… idk

I don’t think it’s that bad.

Hopefully it will change after the beta. It sounds like his voice is strained or something.

It sounds bad. He sounds like a parody of the previous announcers.

You get 2 medals per kill now. Including a straight up “kill” medal. Its insane

Yeah, which they totally didn’t take from COD…

The amount of stupid in that single line…

Longshot, cluster luck, hail mary… too many announcements. Medals, I don’t care about that much. Generic “Kill” and “Grenade kill” medals are a bit excessive, but it doesn’t bother me because I can easily ignore it. Not a fan of all the announcements though.

“Sniper in 30 seconds” and power weapon callouts are not a favorite of mine either. That should be left up to YOU and your team to keep track of. That’s part of learning the game imo.

“Hey guys, where are the enemies? And do you know where any of the weapons are?”

Chirp Chirp"Guys? Are you there?"

Solitary cough from teammate
“Hello? Anyone listening?”

Silence

I don’t really care who the announcer is, and I don’t get why people get angry over it. It’s just a voice, that you don’t have to listen to, that narrates what you got so you don’t have to look at your medals, increases immersion (you’re in a simulation after all), and fits the more tech-y feel of recent iterations of Halo.

Agree with everything said. Timing weapons is a big part of Halo. If you have been playing Halo for years and still can’t get this right looks like you’ll never need to adapt. Tactics and player awareness are being further automated.

I know, I know, wait for the beta. After the beta, “wait for the final game”. After the release “343i didn’t even patch it yet. Wait for the patch”. I’ve been told to be patient and “wait” since Bungie announced bloom and AAs for Reach.

Get some friends.

Hope all the garbage can be turned off. I like to communicate with my team. I don’t want my in game chat automated.

Can we disable the announcer?!?!? Nope. Guess I DO have to listen to it.
It also does nothing for immersion for me. (loled @ that actually)
The new voice just reminds me that the new developed has a “Bungie” complex and like change for the sake of change itself. They make controversy where there need not be any.

My point was that I shouldn’t have to play with friends just to get basic info from other players.

Let’s say I was playing at 4 a.m. Maybe two or three of my friends are online, and none want to play Halo. What do I do? Sit in a game knowing nothing about enemy movements besides what I see and only know when the weapon is going to spawn based off an occasional timer?

I want the “A.I. Voices” because I can’t rely on the next Halo player to actually talk to me or give me info. And as a lot of people will attest, intelligence is key on the battlefield. So some generic and somewhat annoying voices are better than silence or what a Kinect happens to be picking up in someone’s living room.

Wait, there is no volume control on your T.V.? I thought that came standard…

And 343i isn’t purposely creating controversy, it’s the fans that are. They make a change, and then everyone insists on talking about it. I’m sure they’ve made changes that people don’t talk about, like footstep sounds, and nobody cares, so it’s not controversial.

Okay, fair enough. Some basic call outs as an OPTION… I get it. Letting us know when the “sniper rifle is ready”. Automated situational awareness is what that is. I guess the super adaptive Halo community couldn’t adapt to timing weapons. Training wheels anyone?

Or you could play with a headset that doesn’t have game sound. You can either listen to the announcer, listen to a low-volume game/announcer, listen to nothing, or listen to in-game chat (silence). Take your pick.
