I’m Diamond 4 in Slayer. Tonight, after short que times, while going solo, I have matched multiple different champ level people in consecutive games. Obviously I’ve been demolished by them and its not very fun. Please tighten matchmaking back up
Matchmaking was opened up more to allow really high skill players (like champs and high Onyxes) to find games more easily, as many were previously reporting that they could not find games at all. It’s a delicate balance that 343i tried to maintain, as they want matches to be mostly fair but also don’t want to punish people for being “too good” by preventing them from finding any matches at all. Even now, Champs and Onyxes have trouble finding games, just not as much as before.
I’ve heard that if you exit and re-enter matchmaking after like 30-40 sec, you avoid your matchmaker from opening up to allow you to match with champs and such. This may affect how quickly you find games, however.
My experience has been getting matched with “champs” and I’ve only been playing Halo on my other account for 6 months. This is ridiculous.
What makes it 10x worse is having complete noobs on my team. I have played Halo in the past several years back. There are noobs that are trying to take down a wraith with an AR instead of fragging it. Very frustrating and this is when I quit games. Willing to bet most are quitting due to poor matchmaking algo.
