Some self professed Halo “Vet” has just told me that after Franks recent interview the Stndard copy of the game will not have two discs like the Limited Edition does.
And that the standard edition also does not come with spartan ops because it’s only got 1 disc lol. Any truth to this? or is he just being a sloppy drunk -Yoink-?

Spartan ops is downloaded, not disc content.
I would think that it would actually be illegal for them to just sell half the game to consumers for the standard price of a newly released game but have to dish out another 40 bucks+ tax to get the rest of the experience.

Well I can tell you that no matter what edition of Halo 4 you purchase, you will be able to play Spartan Ops (although you will need a Xbox Live Gold membership). Now about the standard edition only getting one disc and the LE getting 2 discs. I would assume that all copies of Halo 4 will be on two discs. One for Campaign and the other for MP, similar to Battlefield 3.

It’s not clear what exactly the second disc holds yet, but be assured Frankie said both editions come with the full Halo 4 experience. Including Spartan Ops.
Not sure about the two discs, but the regular edition definitely gets Spartan Ops.
Spartan Ops is available for free to anyone who has bought a copy of Halo 4. It has been confirmed since they first started talking about it.
I am not sure if you need Xbox Live gold membership to get it though…

I think its been confirmed that Halo 4, standard too, ships with 2 discs.
If that isn’t accurate, it will in no way prohibit you from using Spartan Ops. It is downloaded, and 343i has said nothing about it being special edition exclusive. Don’t worry.

All editions come with the same content. Except the Limited Edition gets a season pass, and some extra content, such as specialisations, armour, etc.

Unless the second disc in the LE is some kind of extra content disc or maybe FUD (probably not, but would be amazing), then he’s just flat out trolling you. I’m pretty sure at this point the Campaign and Multiplayer will be on separate discs, obviously available in both editions.
I haven’t heard this, but considering what they did with the LE I wouldn’t be surprised.
I wish the SE was only on one disc. About a year ago, wasn’t Xbox beta testing those 20GB discs? What ever happened to those? Why are Xbox games still around 8GB each?
