Please tell me these are all forge maps...

Seriously. We have basically 2 midship re-imaginations and 2 building top maps. They are basically the same maps in just different settings and a few pieces of geometry removed and a few added but you can clearly see the copy and paste >.>

Uhhhh, it’s called crap! It’s called i343 and MS gorge on your money cause they know their gonna take your money cause your weak and gonna buy this piece of crap cause it’s calling to you to buy…watch if I am not right…!

Well if so that’s funny because these 4 maps are better than anything in Halo 4 or Halo Reach.

343/Certain Affinity defintely stepped their game up.

They probably are Forge maps.

I was just thinking this right after I played Eden. It’s basically the same thing as the other one that was just up. If this is the extent of their map making abilities, then I’m not looking forward to Halo 5

They’re remixes of the same maps, with the map featured in Breakout being a Forge canvas. All of them revealed in The Sprint.

Truth, Regret, Empire, and Eden are developer maps. Crossfire, Trench, Pegasus, and Orion are all Forge maps.
All of the maps look good, and the remixes hardly look like the originals.

There shouldn’t be any remixes. They should be original enough to make completely new maps every single time.

Yeah well 343 tried that with Halo 4 and literally all but one or two of the maps were atrocious so if it takes remixes to provides players with good maps then so be it

This. I understand a day/night version of each but why waste time and resources moving a few objects when you can be creating all new, creative and unique maps. I haven’t liked certain affinity’s maps for years as they blatantly take quantity vs quality (graphical textures are often subpar on their maps) and now they’re just doing copy and paste?

I enjoy the remixes. Truth and Regret as well as Empire and Eden play very differently. Eden is a hell of a lot of fun once you figure out where everything is. Had some great games today.

Bungie managed to create great maps while only making a handful that are unpleasant to play on. I don’t understand how 343 can’t achieve the same level of quality or at least just not make their maps garbage like in halo 4…

I agree, Regret is more or less a smaller truth (even the bases clearly use the same textures in some areas), but there is more cover and I actually like that map as opposed to truth.

While Eden was also building top, there are clear differences in the design. The top catwalks offer vantage points, but have good blind spots that don’t make them camping spots. Again there seems to be a lot more cover and it’s much more broken up meaning someone can’t spawn and instantly hurl grenades at you no matter where you are. The grenade spam doesn’t seem as bad either.

Overall I prefer these maps to the previous two.

Regret and Eden are remixes. Potentially nice ways to upgrade the total map count for launch without drawing a ton of resources.

As for the seemingly copy paste job… that’s kind of what they did. Regret is basically Truth upside down with some things opened up.

The maps do play and focus quite differently, I’ve seen.

I am fine with the remixes just as long as there are some plenty of non remix maps.

If you had watched “The Sprint” documentary, you would have learned that the maps “Regret” and “Eden” are simply new cosmetic and gameplay spins on the previous maps “Truth” and “Empire”. 343i calls them “remixes” and they are made so that the game could have a large amount of maps come launch. 343i will probably make 10 core maps with a “remix” variant for most if not all. Expect to have 15-20 total maps including remixes once Fall 2015 arrives.
