Please tell me the 30fps on Xbox One/S isn't final

Hey there,
So, I understand these consoles are old, I understand almost 8 years after it’s initial release date getting Halo Infinite for the base Xbox One console is still a huge deal. And yes, its long due for a console update. I’m thankful for Infinite even releasing on the base console. But the new consoles still suffer from production & delivery issues, you name it.
In hope that this post will be regarded as constructive criticism; 30fps on a competitive arena shooter in the year 2021 is not going to work…at all. I know that Halo 5 had a dynamic resolution with 60fps back in 2015, I hope that in one way or another the base Xbox One/S will get 60 fps in december because the difference between Halo 5 and Infinite is huge on the base Xbox One…and I’m afraid not in favour of Halo Infinite.

Someone said some where in this forum you can bump it to 60? I haven’t looked in to it. All I know is it’s not worth playing on an old One. I have both. I know.

I tried playing on the Xbox Series X, and was getting noticeable drops below 30 FPS in training mode…

I really wished they gave us an option to view FPS live in game like Apex Legends does…

But they probably don’t because they know how taxing the game is.

From seeing Linus Tech running Halo Infinite on different PC builds, it appears that Halo Infinite is fairly inefficient for getting optimal & good FPS on modern / mid tier tech.

Hopefully it gets optimized! OR they should give us an option to ramp DOWN visual quality. Most competitive players would rather game @ 4K/1080p 120FPS (ad advertised) than 1080P 30-60 FPS (current state)

I think I saw a thread where someone mentioned there’s an option to increase it to “performance” graphics or something, but there’s a bug where it reverts to “normal” (or the 30 fps) after every game.

As an Xbox One player though, I will happily accept this as the reason I suck rather than being unskilled. xD

Oh man, you could have let me have my delusion for like a day at least. T_T

I agree with this post a lot, having it be 30fps on Xbox one s makes the game feel really slow. I notice that on the Xbox One X there is a performance and quality mode, I’d like to see that for the Xbox One S and Fat Xbox One consoles, even if it would make the game look really bad. Its also kind of unfair given that the game is crossplay and cross console where other consoles/pc get 60fps+ while old xbox one’s only get 30. I know its a lot of work to optimize a game but this is something I’d really like to see be improved in infinite, even if its done after launch.

Gameplay feel > graphics

This is wrong I have software that I can track my fps and in multiplayer I was running at 120 fps it did have drops to 60 at times but in no way is it 30. And this was on the series X btw.

Thank you. I haven’t researched it at all.
