Please take us back...

343, us halo players, are just that… HALO players. We don’t want a game like call of duty or any other game like that. We want to play halo. We don’t want to sprint, have loadouts or any of that. We want our four shot back. We don’t want people to die in split seconds, we want to have to earn that kill. Please, for the sake of the entire halo franchise, with halo 5, head back towards halo 2 and 3! People stopped playing halo because it stopped BEING halo. I’m afraid if you keep going the direction you guys are going, no one, pro’s or amateurs, are gonna play halo 5. I am not saying a “halo 2.5” but take us back to what made halo so fun.

Please speak for yourself. I don’t mind sprint one way or the other and I like what Halo 5 seems to be doing with it. Halo 5 does not have loadouts, so that wish was granted. BR looks like it will four-shot like normal, but the beta will tell and can be changed if it does not. Gameplay from Halo 5 doesn’t look like players are dying any faster than they did in previous games. I liked Halo 2 and Halo 3, but it wasn’t because the gameplay was just so amazing. The community didn’t think so during those games prime anyway. When I think of Halo 2, I remember the campaign. When I think of Halo 3, I think of the huge customs community and Forge. I’m sure fond memories of those times drive community nostalgic love for those games more than what was perceived to be the amazing gameplay.

I am tired of these arguments, you don’t represent the entire community millions of fans feel as you do. Millions of people do not agree with you, either way Halo needs to move forward or risk becoming CoD

> I am tired of these arguments, you don’t represent the entire community millions of fans feel as you do. Millions of people do not agree with you, either way Halo needs to move forward or risk becoming CoD

So shifting gameplay towards the COD crowd makes it less COD? Halo isn’t a yearly franchise in the sense that the gameplay stays the same and the story is as useful as a diaper for a wash cloth. Every main Halo title has taken at least 3 years to develop except for ODST, Assault, Strike, etc. Halo was at its best when it stuck to its guns and wasn’t something that followed the consumer’s every move. It had the consumers come to them. 343 has proven they can do that just as well as Bungie. Halo 4 sold more units than Reach which sold more than Halo 3, blah blah blah. So the marketing is there especially, but we need a developer who will stick to what made Halo, Halo. 343 is going out to accommodate for a group of people who will buy the game anyway. After Halo 4 everyone was screaming for a more classic approach to the series again, which they are bringing by coming back with arena style matches, but accommodating to another crowd just to keep your population isn’t really necessary to me. I don’t Believe it’s about evolving with the modern shooter, because frankly, modern shooters suck today. A lot of them do anyways. I Believe that Halo can stand on its own two feet without having to conform.

Shifting more towards cod, by becoming an arena shooter, while cod is a loadout based shooter. They share movement concepts, but that’s not really an issue since they’ve shared that before, both games at one point had no sprint no climbing, and a lack of other abilities, so I fail to see that if it wasn’t like cod before how it can be now, we are literally in the same situation we were 10 years ago.

Christ, guys just let Halo evolve like gaming does, it’s the least I except from it when the first game’s title was COMBAT EVOLVED.

Halo must always keep the arena shooter to be successful (something that didn’t happen to Halo 4) but after that, I believe that it must evolve in the way it needs to attract new people while others that were back in the days of Halo CE leave. (I mean those who weren’t so big fans and now have families and they don’t have time to play, and I don’t mean in any way that old fans must leave).

If Halo 2 Anniversary MP was released today without any Halo ever coming before it, thus eliminating loyalty or nostalgia purchases, then it would fail. What is special about “classic Halo” nowadays? Absolutely nothing. The mechanics are boring now, every shooter has guns, grenades and melee. In order to keep people outside of the ~200,000 classic hardcore fanbase around, we need new things. Halo won’t carry its weight as a flagship franchise if it doesnt. That means making concessions to attract the public, such as the Smart Scope aesthetic. If we added nothing but new weapons and equipment, that wouldn’t be enough. SA’s are the way to go, and they’re here to stay.

Can I get confirmation on this? I did think this was the case but someone notified me that TTKs were decreased to compensate for extra mobility.
Information and sources seem to be very conflicting in this very troubled time.

I can only offer my own opinion based on the gameplay I’ve seen in the videos that have surfaced of beta gameplay. Maybe I don’t have good enough eyes or a memory, but when I played Halo 2, people went down pretty quickly and I see the same in Halo 5. Who knows? I’m no expert.

This…

This is ridiculous. 14 days after I was ban and people still keep making these threads.

> Nobody wants a carbon copy of CE/2/3, and those games were already different and evolutionary.

And just after you said that treycen. Sorry for your faith in humanity being crushed.

Speak for yourself. I love sprint and Halo 5 looks amazing.

Who are you? Are you the Guardian of Halo ? How can you possibly make a comment like this? It is my opinion fans like you are bad for this franchise. Go play COD & stop speaking for millions of fans we don’t need your voice.

Halo is the little boy that just wants to dance ,but daddy 343i is making him play basketball as the other kids.

This doesn’t have a lot of new CoD features. The 2 previous Halo games had sprint, so its not a new feature. Sprint=real life, realistic zoom=real life, grapple=real life, and the other abilities SOMEWHAT copy Advanced Warfare. EXCEPT when Halo 5 comes out, a new CoD game will be released. Most likely with no exosuits or those abilities in Advanced Warfare.
