Please stop.

Look, I get it. Halo 4 is a dramatic leap from the Halo gameplay we know and love. But all this complaining isn’t going to change that.

With every game that’s come after Halo 3, ‘hardcore’ Halo fans have found faults that may or may not be unanimous. But what all of us need to realize is this: games need to evolve.

Do you honestly want to play the same rehased system of gameplay every time an addition to a video game series comes out? Me personally? No. Change is inevitable. Games are going to evolve, and some may even draw inspiration and features from other successfull gaming franchises.

I understand. I agree that Halo 4 is not the same Halo I played back in 2001. But I’ve learned to adapt and move on. I’ve learned to enjoy every Halo game that has come out (yes, even Reach). Each had their flaws, but they all also had those new features that made them fan favorites!

As gamers, we have two options: 1. We can accept that change is inevitable, accept it, and play the games we have loved for so long. Or 2. We can whine like children, and stay stuck in the same rut, all the while convincing ourselves that everything must remain the same.

I’m not saying not to voice your opinions. I’m just asking. Please don’t flood everyone with your complaints.

Thank you for reading (if you did)

Or option 3. 343i can create playlists that appeal to both those who like the new gameplay and those who wish for a more classic experience.

Them changing isn’t really the main problem
It’s the fact that there’s no option for those who don’t want the change.

Also, this game has no real incentive to keep playing it since there’s nothing there for the competitive people, and getting max level takes WEEKS.

Yeah, sure…games “evolve” and change, but they tried to change TOO MUCH, and didn’t give people enough choices.

I like that idea.

As do I. Again, not saying don’t voice your opinions.

And I’m saying you are wrong in that we only have two choices, deal with it or whine.

Option 3 is Halo 3. If you want classic gameplay, then go play the game that offered it. COD fans that don’t like BO2 went back to the older COD games ( which is the reason for why there are 4 COD games on the Activity Charts ), so I really don’t understand why it’s so hard for you guys to do the same, especially since most consider Halo 3 to be the best Halo game.

How many times do we need to repeat this?

We DON’T hate changes, we hate BAD changes.

And I agree with you. I had not stopped to consider other options. I had merely written what was on my mind at the time. And for that I apologize. If you find anything else you disagree with, please share with me. I do not always accomodate for the entire gaming populace. But I do try.

This idea is so good that it just wont work, because that’s how the world runs these days. Just like the American Government.

I liked Reach. I hate Halo 4. Halo 4 doesn’t feel like Halo. Its not that I hate change, I just hate having a game called Halo when its nothing like Halo.

Honestly I love playing Halo 4. It will be my game of choice until I get my hands on Halo 5. The truth is though even though I love playing it there is just way to much randomness in some of the game modes. While they are fun in and of themselves they just don’t have the staying power. Once some more consistency gets back to Halo 4 MM I truly believe you will see the return of many players.

The good news is that it is finally coming. If the playlist were on there now I would be playing Halo 4 right now instead of being here on the Forums.

I agree with OP.

I just miss Sandtrap, honestly

OP your argument is flawed and has been proven wrong many times before. The definition of evolution is this: keeping traits that worked while developing new traits to adapt to new situations. If human DNA suddenly mutated and stopped giving us legs but gave us a third arm, that’s not “evolution”. That’s what Halo 4 has done, it completely discarded successful traits that had evolved before and replaced them with new traits. You’re meant to ADD, not SWAP. Why is that so -Yoink!- hard to understand?

> I just miss Sandtrap, honestly

So do I! That was hands down the best map in Halo 3 and one of, if not the best BTB Halo maps of all time. Guess what, there’s now an even better version of Sandtrap in Halo 2 Vista and also in Halo CE, it has been reconstructed using the map editor and the latest version is called “Sandtrap v3”. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOYcRjT6s3s (skip to 1:35 to see the map, or you can listen to the guy talk about how he got the resolution so wide and nice!)

The low invisible ceiling from the original has been greatly raised, you can now fly all the way to the top of the pillars that surround the map. Additionally, the mines in the outer field have been removed, allowing you to safely move around in the outer regions of the map which previously wasn’t possible, therefore making the playable area much bigger. The “sand lifts” inside the two pyramids are now MUCH cooler, they now give you a boost to your current speed instead of giving you a fixed speed which means if you keep going up and down in the sand lifts, you will build up height each time and you can get REALLY high up which is great fun.

Why? They don’t care about trying to appeal to those who want some hybrid Halo 2 and Halo 3 game or the ability to create that old nostalgia. It’s a minority of the population that just happens to complain the loudest, which is why 343i hasn’t simply caved in and done what “the few” want. I say let them kick rocks…

Maybe it will be more of an adhesive Halo community if they simply left.

There is honestly NO REASON why 343 SHOULDN’T add playlists to appeal to those complaining…
Because they’ll KEEP their current player base, and GAIN those who wanted it. They would have MORE PLAYERS.
It would be down right stupid of them business wise not to.

I’m fine with Halo changing/evolving but when the series changes its core gameplay Halo 4 is no longer a Halo game. Logical change is fine (Halo CE to Halo 2) but change which deliberately isolates sections of the previous fanbase just doesn’t make sense.

So basically

Screw the people who are complaining, they aren’t big enough to matter. People who are happy however, do everything they want because they say they are the majority.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no…A developers goal should be to please everyone. Not just cater to who gets you the most money. When that happens, you get EA and EA is the worst game company I can possibly think of. Not because their games suck but because they rape our wallets.
