I am sick and tired of dealing with smurfs in ranked playlists. It’s not until I get into Plat 6 and into Diamond that I end up matching them, however this is very frustrating in that I’ll be stuck at 1 or 2 wins away from Diamond 1 or Onyx 1500 because I’ll match 3 or 4 smurfs in a row. I will not tolerate this anymore, and it should be known that proper etiquitte is to not boost your ego while costing lower ranked players their CSR’s. If you’re gonna smurf, just please do it in a social playlist.
I even talked to one of them today (to whom I lost twice in a row) and he tried to explain that “he was warming up solo” in ranked Slayer. I matched him twice in a row with the same exact team and that was his excuse. We weren’t born yesterday. If you’re gonna warm up solo, then DO IT IN A SOCIAL PLAYLIST FFS. Some of us actually want to rank up and get better.
Okay end rant and butthurt. Just had to vent that out to you guys.
It can be frustrating. Sometimes I wish it was ONE account per gold membership. That would cut down on them big time. I look at it as if you want to get better you have to play good players. I will only rank in FFA though. Quitters ruined ranked play for me.

I couldn’t agree more. Limiting the amount of accounts on memberships would solve this as well as bringing back to the old ranking system that doesn’t screw you for getting unlucky (i.e. Quitters, guys going 5-20, matching against smurfs). 343i has really gone down swinging with the ranking system
From now on I’m gonna stick to FFA where at least I get credit for my good performance and don’t have to deal with quitters or smurfs (at least not often).
The ranking system IMO is stupid anyway in Halo 5 so it’s kinda hard to take it seriously. It is annoying when you get put on a team with scrubs but if it gets to much just find other people to play with so you don’t get them on your team.

There are still Smurfs in FFA, can’t really say to what degree but it’s not as frustrating as say matching three champs with one low rank on their team and your team is random lower rank and usually quitters

It really is, like I don’t know how people can defend this system or how 343i doesn’t see the problems it presents. It’s hard to take it seriously, but at the same time it sucks when you’re stuck a tier or two lower than where you truly belong. It’s almost insulting. I couldn’t agree more.

Got that right, man. It’s definitely much less frequent in FFA. I appreciate the opportunity to face them in FFA, however it’s extremely unfair in ranked team playlists.
Unfortunately, this is simply not going to get fixed. 343 completely ignores this issue. The only thing to do is start smurfing too, I mean its not the right thing to do but these guys who are smurfing do not get caught at all. Reporting them through xbox live does absolutely nothing so if 343 doesn’t care about this then we should start doing it too I guess until the matchmaking gets worse then we get their attention.
I deal with smurfs on slayer but mostly on swat. I will provide a screenshot of a situation of EXTREME smurfing.

That just can’t possibly be, the MMR of you unranked player must have have a power Lvl over 10000. Because the system is far superior to Halo 2 or Halo 3s
I damn well hate people with a LOT of smurf accounts. I’d probably make ONE smurf account if my primary was timed out for whatever reason, but bloody hell ya don’t need 30 of them!
In general I’m against smurfing unless it was only one made as a back up if yer primary has problems, however nowadays people use them to match low ranks and hit clips for montages and crap.

Exactly. It’s all at the expense of the CSR’s of other players as well. Social playlists are in there for a reason, so it baffles me that people don’t see the problem with smurfing in ranked matches.

apparently it can be, i shouldn’t be facing champs. but one thing i did learned from this is that its actually an OK match in terms of skill. i say this because my opponents were absolutely NOT legit champ and onyx. on the actual match they were a little above my skill but not too high. so these guys are just boosting and at the end of the day they are not their legit rank. you can see on the screenshot the score. 50-42. we did not get stomped at all so at least i feel better since a champ and onyx “struggled” with us.
I hate how i can win 2 games in a row and it matches the 2nd game against low ranks i get barely any points then the 3rd game i go against 3 onyx and a plat smurf.
I loose more points i de rank because of 1 player who has a -Yoink- rank, the ranking system shoud take the highest rank player and csr drop against them not the lowest rank on the enemy team
Unfortunately this won’t get fixed unless Xbox does do 1 account per gold membership I don’t even played ranked because of smurfs, I only play it to get placed and that’s it most of the time then I’m in social for everything else sucks because I enjoyed ranked playlists but sadly smurfs ruin the fun and only way for it to be slowed down is if Xbox does that with the memberships and I don’t see that happening for a long time if it even happens at all.

unfortunately, it is what it is. we should all start getting used to this. i keep on pressuring josh on his matchmaking updates and he refuses to comment on the current state of smurfing.
i guess we should start doing the same because these guys keep on boosting with no penalty so i suggest you all start doing the same.
