I know there have been threads about Quitting before but I figured I would give it a go.
In Arena please stop Quitting. I play Halo by myself. I could run with a company but when I am playing Arena I feel like I play better alone. I work with whatever teammates I get matched up with and I never quit. I cannot count how many times I have seen people quit, often times two people. Heck there have been matches where I literally was playing 1 v 4. I am not sure where this quitting mentality comes from but when you start a match in Arena you finish it unless something legitimately serious comes up. When you quit a match it impacts your team. It isn’t just about you. Quitting is a selfish act and it shows a lack of character. Sometimes you run into another team of elite/mlg types and you get thumped. So what? That is no reason to quit. If anything it is a great way to learn how to get better. Watch how the very best players work together and control a map and create angles and use the map in interesting ways. Study their movements so you can try to improve.
I used to be complete garbage at Arena. My Arena K/D was like .6 and I have worked at it and learned from my mistakes and loses and now I am up to .92 and while I will never be a great Arena player, I can at least now hold my own and sometimes I am even the one handing out the thumping. Playing thru the tough matches makes you better and sticking it out shows you have character.
Also try to remember Halo multiplayer is a team engagement. I notice sometimes playing Strongholds where some guys won’t even bother trying to capture a zone. They will just go for every kill they can get even if it means losing the zone or letting a teammate die that you could have helped so your numbers won’t be negatively impacted. I have seen people in Breakout literally just stand back and hide each round so they won’t die and so it won’t impact their K/D. For those people I just do not understand why they don’t stick with Free for All.
Anyway the purpose of this thread is not to bash people who quit. The goal is that maybe hopefully, a few of you that do quit maybe might think twice about it next time and stick out a match.
Quitters gonna quit, that is how life is. Its like telling a mute person to talk…it won’t work.
As I’ve said in other threads, quitting has been rampant since H2. People easily forget the negative when reminiscing in the past. It’s like dating. You break up with a certain person, then after a year or so, you regret breaking up with that person, because you only remember the good. One day you decided to go back out with that same person to be quickly reminded why you broke up with that person. Even though I agree with you, I don’t see any change in peoples decisions in regards to quitting.

Yeah I know you are right, but I figured I would give it one shot and start a thread. I guess even if one person comes across it and decides not to quit next time around it is worth it you know?
The banning system needs to be harsher, way harsher.
Ok, you have changed my mind and my heart with your stirring wall of text! I shall, forevermore, not quit!
P.S. At times the dedicated servers will disconnect me and my party of their own accord: pre-matchmaking as well as midgame, for no discernable reason.
Also, in reference to this:

I wish people would agree to go out with me, much less more than once. Point is, the metaphor is lost on me.
The problem is there is no good reason for players to play a game until the end. If they get banned, they go play another game thats just as fun. The Daily win Req’s are garbage and the REQ points you get at the end of a match are near worthless because its a RNG based system.

Says the guy who made a thread complaining he got banned for quitting one game, when his history shows 5 quits today. LMAO
This isnt good for Halo 6.
Everyday people are making Stop Quitting threads. 343 knows its a problem.
So the next Halo will end up being EXP ranking which I hate. So the quitters could quit and not be penalized, and JIP could happen.
But with EXP ranking that means uneven matches. Right now matches arent perfect but IMO they are better then the matches you get form EXP ranking. All that matter sin EXP ranking is how much time you put in. See kids running around with a prestige level 10 and there going 3-20 with no assists in a Slayer game type.
I see where you are coming from, I do, BUT it very well could be a connection issue. There are a number of threads from players outside the US complaining of shotty servers. And it does happen in the US as well. A couple weeks ago I was getting booted almost every other match. It sucked and I honestly felt bad for the teammates I left behind (all members of my Spartan Company). Point being, before my own struggles I was just like all of you. Afterwards I start to wonder if it’s not ONLY people quitting, but connection as well. And I wonder if there is a way for the Ban Hammer to tell the difference before dropping it hard on people.

Its not all people quitting but a majority.
They show up in these threads saying they are allowed to quit if they are not having fun.
This is why JIP is needed as long as one team isn’t too far ahead. Getting a new teammate when the game is close will prevent the game falling to -Yoink- with a score if 50-20. And most quitters I’ve seen do it when the game is close enough to easily make a comeback. We need harsher quit penalties too. People who repeatedly quit should have their Spartan forced to wear a dunce hat that has a massive hitbox.
Recently the bans for quitters has become much more severe. Hopefully after enough ban time these kids will either leave the game completely, or learn to stop quitting all the time. Time will tell.
I just stick mainly with Warzone since it has JIP. If someone leaves, someone else will join.
The problem will work itself out when they get themselves banned. It’ll ramp.up again when kids get Halo 5 for Christmas, though.

The best is when people seem to only have wins and DNF in their history.
Im sure the game always disconnects when they’re losing…lol
i was watching a twitch stream earlier and a guys team quit when it was 10 - 1 i think. The last guy stayed in the game and ended with like 7 - 40 something like that.
I felt bad for the guy that his team quit and he had to stay because he he would probably get banned if he did quit. I like that quitters get banned but there should be something to protect people like that guy who had no option but to take the onslaught.
I’ll quit when I am one against four. Yeah, not with these Arena maps that is sooo small.
This is the nature of online gaming. I am willing to bet 80% of these “quitters” will never read a waypoint forum post. That’s if they even know it exists.

Not me. I will fight 1 v 4 I refuse to quit. I don’t care how many times I will get killed there is no way I am quitting. Heck it has happened to me a number of times and a couple times I actually held my own and those are the matches you remember. You don’t give up. This is Halo.
