I’m not talking about the spawn system itself
I’m talking about the dynamic spawn points in BigTeamBattle And FLAG on Bigger maps and why 343 went back to such a bad system.
At no point in time should the other team spawn at my base or even on my side of the map SLAYER or FLAG
whats the point of making a push for a flag if the other team will just spawn next to ur base if u push up to much – WHY WHY WHY
Even in slayer why try to flank the other team if the spawn system will just spawn them FLANKING you …
Static spawns are what play best and are balanced…

The problem isn’t really how they forged the map (although the way that they forged the maps raises some serious questions as to how well they even know how their spawn engine works), but is much more systemic. It is a side affect to their attempts of preventing spawning by an enemy player. For details, see the article I wrote up on CTF and spawn traps.
They could mitigate the problem using the inverted pyramid solution I provide in the article on using zones. But the best solution given the current schedule of influencers is to include team assigned respawn points nearest the flags - a significant rework of the spawns on each map.
I’ve had games on Adrift CTF where I spawned in the tunnel right next to the enemy’s flag. Multiple times.
So yeah, something needs to be done about these spawns.
Static spawns can encourage spawn camping though. Perhaps I’ll give that article a read later.

That’s awful, If a team gets spawn trapped it is their own fault, and they shouldn’t get a get out of jail free card because they’re getting ousted by the other team. I It would be nice if 343i wasn’t constantly trying to find way to punish players for using their brains, and executing team work.

Well, I think it is only fair to say that it is their fault if they understood the underlining mechanics and what it is that they are doing to allow themselves into a spawn trap.

Yes I understand how to spawn trap, and how you end up within the parameters of being isolated as well, and I learned about it through forging, and through being spawn trapped myself which was my and my team mates fault due to being too incompetent to fight back, and work together.
I haven’t had too much problem with dynamic spawn in Capture the Flag. Just don’t be an idiot and sit on the enemy spawn points. The spawn system in flag is actually ok. It gives you the ability to control enemy spawns, somewhat. It makes Adrift flag bearable since you can have your team sit in the enemy base to prevent them from spawning and camping there. However, there is NO reason that they spawn at your base sometimes. That is just silly.
However, dynamic spawns NEED to go. They do nothing but promote randomness and less-skilled game play. It makes the game feel more like CoD. Random spawns everywhere make things too chaotic.

It’s even worse on BIG maps like Rag
If 2 of u push in to the base and kill a few they will start to spawn past midd map or even farther
This makes for terrible game play
And why would u do this in slayer in BTB on maps like longbow or Rag – kind of kills the point of flanking the other team

Well if the true skill system worked properly
We wouldn’t have games were one team is walking all over the other …
The games would be much better and no one would be getting spawn killed
Really justifying spawn traps. Dam this community is getting worse and worse. First defending the Halo 2 button combo/glitches and now this. I wonder waht is gonan be next defending hackers??
I can see the spawn system in a casual playlist working fine, but when it’s across the board with these spawns… It’s so bad it can make certain objective maps unplayable like Adrift.
If the enemy clears you out and grabs your flag, you spawn outside near the two lifts, you lift their side, counter grab, and everyone gets a flag.
What happened to the old good system where you needed your flag home to cap?

I miss the hell out of spawn traps. It punished bad players for being bad, and gave good teams a reward for learning the spawns and putting the other team down. If you got spawn trapped, you did something wrong. Get better and it won’t happen as often.
The H2 button glitches weren’t game breaking, and the BXR and double shot/quad shot could make a hell of an entertaining interaction. I remember quad shotting my way into some really awesome double kills. It made things fun and exciting. and again, if you weren’t good enough to use them, then you got punished for it. Get better and you can appreciate stuff like this.
You are the reason this community is getting worse if you ask me. Uneducated and under-skilled players attempting to dictate the way this game should be. Go play COD so you can ruin a game that I don’t play.
On Topic: I HATE dynamic spawns with all of my. Completely nulifies the idea of map control and strategy for the single purpose of giving bad players a chance.
But hey, that’s how this game was designed. To give bad players a chance in every situation. It’s -Yoinking!- disgusting.

I would rather deal with a system that allows spawns trapping then a system that allows terrible spawns and Random spawns
If the true skill system worked properly - nobody would have to deal with spawn traps or terrible spawn systems
But with the True skill system Halo 4 has
We have to deal with all these things that could be easily fixed
I’ve spawned in the enemies base for the easy flag steal many times on Skyline. I’d get confused every time it happened.

This happens all the time on adrift. Inexcusable.

This is a terrible game mechanic / and was only implemented because of such a lame TRUE SKILL system
People never really got spawn killed in 50 high H3 Team slayer

Last night I was playing BTB Ragnarok and spawned in the enemy base…as usual I got confused and in this mental state I see a spartan jumping into the Mantis. “Must destroy Mantis” was the only thing on my mind and in my confused state I started attacking the Mantis rampage style…and suddenly it stroked me…f*ck…it´s my teammate in the Mantis. He was going to hijack the enemies Mantis and there I am trying to destroy his plan (and thank good for this friendly fire thing).I received a voice message from a seriously angry gamer.
I am still ashamed.

Timing weapons- gone
Spawn trapping to pull a Flag - gone
Random weapons around the map - new
Random spawns on both sides of the map when u flank - new
randomness is bad for gameplay
structure- balance- and predictability are good for gameplay
In my experience Adrift has an atrocious spawn system. Mainly because people can spawn on the flag too easily. They have all these small hallway doors to watch and they just get slaughtered in their base but spawn there over and over again.
