please stop complaining about locusts.

locusts are nowhere near overpowered and they aren’t anywhere near imbalanced. unbelievable all this complaining is gunna get them nerfed for no reason. people just want a meta centered around nothing but infantry and scout units and I dont understand it. dont be mad because your stupid overused jackrabbit rush gets completely shut down because of a couple locusts and a few turrets. hey heres a thought, try actually playing the game and use another unit =] I pity the fool that jack rabbit rushes me anymore not trying to seem arrogant but I haven’t lost to a jack rabbit rusher since kinsano came out with my locust build and I’m only a diamond 3 mostly because of crashes and dumb stuff happening mid game like having to leave because I had to go to school or work. but people dont understand that if locusts are nerfed they will be absolutely worthless like they were in halo wars 1. The main problem I have with locust is that they dictate the mid game. The moment you see a banished player going for locust just throw whatever you have planned out the window because you must now play almost flawlessly to stop them. The banished player need only to sneak over to your base with a ball of locust while the defender must have amazing vision on the map or he will almost certainly lose some or all of a base/bases. The anti air is not needed because reavers are the best anti air unit in the game.

I’m sorry but I must respectfully disagree with you. if your “midgame” is before 8 min or so thats not midgame thats still pretty early especially in modes outside of 1v1’s mid game is actually terrible for locusts because of leader powers. I think you underestimate the devastation one archer missile strike can have on locusts. a Mac blast is also a nightmare for locusts. locusts mid game are borderline worthless you have to mix them into your army of units mid game not go full locusts.

Wait, what? The Reavers are not the best AA unit in the game, they miss quite often compared to the Wolverines, and are usually crushed by an air Swarm or a Condor, I still see more Banished players chosing Banshee + Plasma Torpedo over Reavers.

On the Locusts, I don’t think they are OP, and even if they were what would be the problem? Playing Banished is harder than UNSC since most of the Banished units suck compared to their UNSC counterparts, UNSC has more effective offensive powers as well.

I agree that Locusts aren’t nearly as bad as people complain they are. I’d be ok with a slight nerf to infantry damage though, just to keep the masses happy.

Okay locust arnt op as a unit alone but with a combination of leader powers they become a massive threat to anyone who isn’t ready for them. Nightingale smoke is something I hardly ever seen used and alot of people pair them with cyclopses to counter locust. Also after an Atriox player teleports locust onto a base they commit a massive amount of resources to get them there,keep them alive, and make them so be ready to push right after since we only have like half pop locust left and locust have a long build time with 2 factorys and no ability’s to keep them alive… Nightgales teched make it so hard to squeeze that last bit of health on a base after eradication and cyclopses teched -Yoink- on locust all day long. It took me a while to figure out how to stop rabbits turret drop or inf turret drop but after many losses I made my own build that worked…now UNSC players get a taste of they’re own medicine and it makes me :smiley:. Keep trying and im sure you will discover the perfect counter!

The Locust are fast enough to miss most of a leader power and they have shields that can take most of the brunt.

If you are losing Locust to cyclops or hunters then your micro is very bad. When I go against even average players they just back up and kite while still shooting. You may lose 1 or 2 but Engineers will keep them alive long enough.

Kodiaks should only be an issue mid game. Late game you just Shroud the Locust and Reavers and hit and run bases.

Running as Ship Master, you can teleport the group to high vantage points near bases and bypass enemy armies and take out bases.

Hero units that are in a garrison can be easily avoided.

My fix is to stop shooting while moving. I’d increase their damage and speed to make up for the nerf so they can still be viable.

Yet all I see in Master’s is Covie players turtling with 3-4 turrets and rushing tech 2 to spam locusts. Surely all the top level players have no clue what they are doing. So surely they can’t be overpowered. They don’t have ridiculous range and make it so you can never leave your base against a ship or they appear and kill you oh no.

Reverse the Protector Sentinel nerf, then maybe we’ll let go of the Locusts.

I played a game last week where a guy made ONLY Locusts and was solo’ing me and my team. The map was ‘Ashes’ and he kept send his army of 10 Locusts through the portals on the side and blowing up our bases. Around the 3rd time he did this, I got pissed and marched over to his base with 4 hornets, Marines and Cyclops. He rushed back with his Locusts and got stomped. Turns out that Locusts are just absolute booty vs. Hornets. He got eliminated about 10 minutes later because he suffered from the same affliction as Sentinel Spammers i.e. “Screw you! I’m going to keep mass producing this OP unit and throwing them into your army of counters, ya nuub!” syndrome.

Pretty sure that that scrub went broke after I killed 6 Locusts that he spawned out of his base…

Jack Rabbits are the most broken unit in the game but Locust are a close second.

Welcome to strategy and scouting. You do what your opponent is throwing at you. If you expect people to sit back and wait for your strategy to emerge - you are playing it wrong. Scout, counter, and continue.

This. And banished abilities negating UNSC ones like bulwarking anything and shipmaster teloport out of abilities. Locusts with other units mixed in is pretty unstoppable if played well (banished using their abilities competently)

Locust are in deed OP. It’s the new sentinals. You leave your base to explore or attack? Locust appear in your base and level the entire thing in less than 15 seconds. Troops can’t get back in time, base is done. Throw some healers on them and good to go. Or scarab with locust. Locust should get obliterated by every troop. They are for killing buildings, that should be it. Not that a group of 10 walk in and blast your base to ruins and then kill other troops attacking. Then you just run away because they are pretty quick. I think they should be a T3 unit. Hunters should be a T2 unit. Cyclops must be made in masses to kill locust.

Jackrabbits are not broken. If banished mid to late game is unstoppable vs unsc, how would unsc ever win. Jackrabbits are the only unit to balance the unsc and banished.
Unsc should win early game and if unsc cant kill the banished early then the unsc is going to lose or have a harder time winning since banished have teleportation, 3 invulnerability powers and decimus siphon and fury stuff.
UNSC cant compete late game so early game jackrabbits are the only thing to balance everything out.
