If anyone comes from Australia, they would know how much of a struggle it is to play Halo 5. More than half of the multiplayer can not be played as we can not find other Aussies. We must resort to search on expanded and find Americans/Mexicans/British players resulting in major connection issues. It honestly sucks, in the most overpopulated days of the week i.e. afternoon weekends, we still cannot find matches and it sucks. I haven’t played one of my favourite Arena gamemodes in months on good connection because we cannot find Aussie games (Grifball). Same goes to warzone. I have a list of what games can be found on what preference most of the day.
Key:
Focused: Amazing connection. Never used for Australians though.
Balanced: Good-Amazing connection.
Expanded: Horrible connection. 1/50 games Aussie gets host then it’s alright.
Arena:
Team Arena - Balanced
Slayer - Balanced (Usually find same 4 people next game)
Breakout - Expanded Only (Was like this since probably April)
FFA - Expanded Only (Was like this since probably February-March)
SWAT - Expanded
Doubles - Balanced
BTB - Expanded
Infection - Balanced (Slowly dying out which sucks)
Grifball - Expanded :’(
Warzone:
Warzone Firefight - Focused (Only gamemode that we can find focused games)
Warzone - Expanded :’(
Warzone Assault - Expanded (Was like this since probably February-March)
I made this list because while everyone in other countries are complaining about silly little things in multiplayer it makes me kinda mad. At least you guys can find games. I doubt there are not 24 players searching in warzone everyday of the week so I can safely say population is out of the question. I think we only have a few dedicated servers we can play at the same time. Please someone let me know why this is happening cause it is one of the main reasons Halo 5 is dying out here in Australia.
I find it a bit stupid that I payed $100 for the standard edition of this game day 1 and I play 6+ hours a day every day and I don’t get the same experience everyone else has… Why can’t I find games? I payed to play multiplayer… Let me find games…
Germany here, my list is about the same, i could even add that they dont even care for translation and even mix things up in texts. So i guess you can consider yourself lucky.

343i does not care about anything but money and all the money is in America because that’s where a lot of the halo fan base is from

Population is most certainly the issue
focused search preferences (in theory) will only search the dedicated servers in Australia (I believe there are two, Sydney and Adelaide) so if there are not enough people in the playlist searching you won’t find a match
balanced should search Australia servers + oceanic/indoaustralian servers
Expanded should search every server
also, there is no host in H5 (at least if we are to believe that the game uses dedi servers)
The speed at which you find games will be determined by your distance from the azure server + people in the playlist
the quality of the connection will be determined by your distance from the server itself

dont blame 343, they try to give us a good halo. of couse for a lot of people the opinions dividde, but that one who is giving the critical sots, and is not being blamed: IS microsft.

343, I love this game so much that I continue to play it today. But I put my foot down now. I cannot bear the lag: not only is it unfair, it makes so many elements of the game so unpolished and sloppy looking. The Hitmarkers? there is a massively noticeable delay between shooting someone and seeing the hitmarkers. It may seem like a minor problem, but trust me it makes the game look and feel so bad. PLEASE 343, I am begging you to do something about this. Make all playlists in Australia unranked I dont care, I just want to pay the game I have spent over $250 on, and you’re not letting me because I live in a beautiful country.
It’s not just Australia, it’s everybody outside of the good ol U S of A. 343i only cater to their biggest player base, that’ll be… you guessed it the good ol U S of A. Let’s be honest here 343i are xenophobic, they really hate everyone outside of North America.
Because last time 343 visited Australia, they were ambushed by drop bears while at a party. That’s why they hate us so much here… Or they were forced to be in a boxing fight against a kangaroo, just like from the mighty boosh

But I can instantly match WZFF on focused but not WZ on balanced. Surely the population isn’t so low that there are less than at least 50 people in Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide that want to play WZ?

They need neutral servers or something not region based servers or take away the expanded option unless that playlist doesn’t have the population to stop people searching expanded

My theory is that there is one server for Adelaide and Sydney each as mentioned earlier. There will always be one game of warzone playing on focused/balanced. You just have to be lucky to be one of those 24 spots.

wrong they care about the community i am a American living in NM by the way connection kinda sucks its not just you guys in other country’s in the states too in fact there have been several instances with me that wont let me play game ore find a dedicated server etc but fact is the world’s internet system is out of date and fact of the matter is it would cost billions if not trillions to update it and i sure as hell don’t think the internet take priority over anything us humans truly need rage done said my peace even though i am almost certain ill get backlash from it.
P.S. i don’t think the or U.S. is gonna spend the money to update the worlds server system and it is not their obligation or job to.
Okay, let me explain something. The main server we all connect to is at Seattle, then that server transfers us to another server closer to us. But there is only one Oceania server and one South Asia server.
The sad fact is that these are the only 2 servers that we can have a stable connection to before the game forces host to a player. Otherwise we have to accept all servers with expanded.
Word of advice 343i, let us state our ping limit, then we might not have this issue.
