I get that a lot of people use it for mini tournaments and I fully respect that, but the vast majority of servers are for casual fun.
Forcing EAC means people that are playing on Linux or installed mods can’t play (some SP mods works, while others don’t, kind of a gamble).
Yes, please, why EAC in necessary is beyond me. So many maps in CGB are broken already.
No don’t remove it, that will just cause problems with hackers running rampant in custom games, instead make a no anti-cheat CGB alongsided the anti-cheat one. That way us console players don’t have to deal with the degenerates that hack online games while trying to have a fun game night in CGB.
When you create a game in the CGB, you should be able to state whether EAC disabled users are allowed to join.
Host can only enable this if their own EAC is disabled.
By default this flag should be disabled (meaning users with EAC disabled CANNOT join).
Easy implementation. Two CGBs will split pop and wont work.
This would make sense. So long as there is some sort of flag on the server that shows this so people know what they might be getting into.
Even if they just had 2 separate server browsers. 1 for EAC and 1 without it. Playing modded maps would be amazing and it’s partly why Halo online was so big.
I’m guessing 343i wont do it because they are trying to get people to play Halo infinite. Can’t they just accept they already ruined that game when they thought they could over charge everyone and monitize everything including the colour of your sparton. The items you pay for you can’t even put it in what ever sparton you want aswell. I think it’s safe to say 343i don’t care about Halo or their consumers.
Things like this just make about exclusives look bad. Server browser is basically the only game type I can do in Halo because of 343i. If I play halo I play with friends and we are all on a different skill level. The sbmm is so strict in casual playlists that we go against players on the skill level of the best player in the party.
Sbmm should only be in ranked. Casual if for casual players but 343i can’t seem to drill that in their heads. They have honestly made me never want another halo game again.
The issue with this is that there is no system for downloading host maps in customs before you join them. Modded maps only work when all players have the same map file, so unless 343 changes how the CGB works and allows users to download host maps before joining this would not change anything.
Just create a similar system to what gmod does, p2p.

Steam workshop will solve this issue once its out i think

Just add this option, its the easiest and best way for this i believe
