I’m just happy they didn’t re-introduce a get 15-25 competitive wins season challenge. Those always annoyed me as a solo player too. Competitive is very unpredictable and inconsistent, even arguably broken/flawed, at least for me. Getting 2 wins a week isn’t asking too much though.
What I really wanted to see was a massive new pool of weekly challenges added on to the current ones, to freshen things up a bit. Unfortunately it looks like this isn’t going to happen. The current challenges aren’t bad, they are just getting stale as they have been nearly the same each week for 6+ months now. I want these challenges to stay in the game, but with many new ones also being possibilities each week.
I think it’s fair that ranked would also get a challenge considering everything else has one.

Every other matchmaking challenge also applies to ranked, so it still has challenges without the ranked wins.
The problem (besides the extreme low playercount and extreme number of very one-sided matches) is that ranked is only playable on US-servers, so every other player would already be at a huge disadvantage.

No, not “everything else” has a challenge. Firefight Fodder just got removed this season, and that was the only weekly gold challenge for Firefight. (Thank you for removing that though, 343! 
) Ranked literally just takes basic social PvP gametypes with more competitive maps and loadouts, so it’s hardly comparable to Firefight, which is its own mode. If anything, Ranked should be treated more like the Custom Games Browser and only have a blue (XP only) challenge, but not gold.
Ranked has so many issues like team balancing, AFKers, and general MCC issues. It gets to be very dead to the point where I kept getting matched up with the same players 3 times in a row. Also, if you DC from a Ranked match at the initial loading screen— which has been happening a lot lately— you’re put on a 5 minute ban that escalates after repeated DCs that are the game’s fault. When you actually get into a match, you have to sweat your -Yoink- off and pray that your teammates: aren’t complete noobs, don’t go AFK, and don’t rage quit. At least 1/3 of those things tends to happen in about 80% of the Ranked matches I play.
