Please remove select

Now there are some pretty average maps on reach…‘ahem’ …pinnacle…‘cough’ the cage which can be controlled effectively by a good team but with a bit of perseverance and the right weapon u can break the control

But not on select. omg every time i play this map its the same…one team completely dominates and it just isnt competitive. its such an easy map to control. all u have to do is take the area where the rockets spawn…and u’ll win. I know this, so I always try to get the rockets or at least take that area unfortunately most of my teamates dont.

so u end up having a horror match, most of ur teamates just quit, and because of the riduclous static spawn system u always spawn on 1 side which the enemies have overrun, so u can never get out, oh and to top it off they get rockets every 3 minutes. u sometimes spawn just below the halfway point on the map.but they probably have a sniper rifle or 2 so u have an expected lifetime of under 5 seconds beofre u get a 50’cal through ur skull.

I like the idea of community maps but they have to be decent and tested to destruction…its way way way way way too easy to spawn trap on select… I ask can it please be removed from team slayer rotation?

Any one else had problems with this map?

I don’t know what your talking about because I don’t play Team Slayer.

I’m not sure I’ve ever lost a game on that map, so it might be a little unbalanced… The rockets do respawn too often for how easy that area is to control. You either have to brave open space and get DMR’d or you have to walk up a nade/rocket trap.

Personally, Renova makes me throw up.

yeh…i used to do alrite, but even when i do i know how easy it is. the problem is i could be the most knowledgable player regarding select in the lobby… but if just 2 or three go and camp on the hill and im the only 1 who tries to stop them ive got a big problem…tbh a lot of thye ommunity maps need to be considered more carefully…not just released because a few ppl like it because easy kills are to be had

Play with a team and don’t complain b/c of bad teammates.

Most of the community maps in Team Slayer are bad. Select, Renova, Precipice, Treasury, Think Twice. The only really good one is Cliffhanger, and that doesn’t get voted too often because it’s actually one of the more elaborate maps despite having only very few structures.

I guess that whoever decided what community maps to put in matchmaking did so based either on likes/votes or who flashy a map looks like, and neither of these criteria mean that the map in question is actually any good.

Of the maps you mentioned the worst one by far is Cliffhanger.

Map Design is a science and Cliffhanger IS a bad map.

The others are fine.

I do agree that the maps could be better though.

The Community Cartographers succeeded in implementing maps but failed in implementing good maps.

Edit: Scratch that. Treasury is the worst with Cliffhanger coming in a close second.

The same guy who made Atom also made Rebirth and Treasury. What do all the maps have in common? They’re abominations and a disgrace to the forge community.

Cliffhanger is actually a pretty good map. Yes, it does have only three structures and looks rather bland. But it is very balanced. It simply works. And that’s more than you can say for the vast majority of Forge World maps in Reach, not just community maps.
