I have really been enjoying halo 5 lately and am looking forward to ghosts of meridian ( even if it is just a req dump ).
There is one huge problem for me in the EU that is stopping me from being able to play… Region lock.
I ( try to ) play halo 5 ever day at 5.00am to 8.00am but I never find a match in anything… ever… not even warzone untill it is 7.30am.
I love this game so much and am on a mission to get every REQ… but because of region lock and never being able to find a match, I might not be able to.
I know that many people in the EU agree with me and also complain about this… so please, please remove region lock this update 343.
So that I can actually find a match when I play.

Why are you even trying to find matches at 5am in the morning…
problem is that this is the only time I ever play…
Why shouldn’t he be searching at 5 AM? The point is the game should find matches at any time of day, which at the moment is being broken by a strict region lock.

It’s much worse at higher skill levels, that’s where most of the problems lie.

True, I watch english pro teams stream and I feel sorry for them… half an hour wait a between a match is a gift for them.
Usually it takes even longer.

Feel your pain bro. Experiencing this since early February (I’m Italian).
Fortunately some days ago 343 finally acknowledged the issue. After weeks of battle we’ve finally got their attention on this problem.
Here you can reach a thread 343 itself opened to gather all the possible infos from players to study a proper solution to Region Lock restriction issue.

Multi billion dollar company needs to figure out how to relax region lock based on non peak play times for our non-american brethren…

They better watch how to resolve it carefully to avoid another horrendous “tweak” as the one that introduced this Region Lock we have now.
Anyway the more people will write on that thread, the more they will realize how a failure Region Lock (as it is now) is a total failure.
Why do people not understand that without region lock, you constantly matchmake with people half way around the world. This means one thing, latency.
Being put in to US servers against US players is god awful and if they do remove region lock, i’m going to b*tch slap every one of you guys moaning about it!

Dude, if it was 343 intention to remove region lock to shut up people complaining about it (like me of course) they would already do, don’t you tihink?.
They are gathering data with the purpose to find a smarter solution thank removing blindly region lock.
The certain thing is that as it is now, latency or not, not being able to play when we want it’s totally unacceptable
Said that, for anyone that wants to change things, go to the bloody thread (or its Reddit version,OR BOTH) and write the story of you life if it’s necessary.
