I don’t understand the dislike for Overgrowth, I think Riptide is 100x worse but meh.

I think there is way worse maps

but I think all of them are pretty stupid cause they are so small I don’t understand why we have maps like that. So many of them are cramped as hell and it’s like they are designed for the sole purpose of spawn trapping.

I see no issue with the map, it isn’t the worst one out there.

They are both awful, and from an arena standpoint (competitive) - they need to be removed. They promote camping and awful angles

Overgrowth isn’t necessarily a bad map. It’s fun for swat because it gets kinda spooky. I’d rather see Regret or Truth go. Those maps drive me crazy.

I do too. I may not win on the map, but I actually have a lot of fun playing on it. Besides, the aesthetics are pretty awesome on Overgrowth.

Truth is just ridiculous for games like Swatnums because of the size. I always get salty when I see that one pop up haha

I think Overgrowth is fine… Plus I’m more about variety, however there are a few other maps that I would add to the chopping block if I could pick one to drop from the rotation.

When I see complaints about a map, Its always the same type of complaint. “the map doesn’t play well”, “the map play doesn’t flow”. This basically translates to mean- I’m not good on this map because of my playstyle so I get beat so please remove it. Which incidentally what it boils down to with liking sprint or not. NOT to get into another debate over sprint. Its just a simple over all point. 95% of players only want things in the game that benefit their playstyle. that is what it always comes back to, it doesn’t matter if its maps, guns or game mechanics. So to your post, No the map is fine. Learn to adapt. I do well on that map and plaza and riptide as well.

That is a good point. Numerous maps I have gone from disliking them to enjoying them a lot. You just have to learn how to play each map.

There’s a handful of maps that fit the competitive scene. The majority of them do not. They are designed to be friendly for everyone almost. Overgrowth, Riptide, Whitecell, Molten; these are not competitive maps. They are annoying because I generally have one play style, but they’re not terrible maps. I do agree that they need to be removed because of my preferences, but that would harm the game and I understand my particulars do not reflect everybody’s.

Much respect to you sir. You are one of the few that is willing to admit why you don’t like a map. Wish more people were like you.

Overgrowth does seem a bit too cluttered for arena play, but I think slayer on it works fine. There is just a learning curve. If I had to pick one map to remove it would be torque. Torque is way too big with very little map movement opportunity, and the spawns are terrible for 4v4 play.
