I haven’t played the campaign. I’m not concerned with the campaign, actually. I’m concerned about the multiplayer. Please read this article, read the whole thing if you want, but I advise you to specifically read through the multiplayer review portion of the article. It’s truth, clear as day.

IMO - that is frankly an awful review. As someone who has written reviews for online sites, it just goes to show how reviewers let their own, personal opinions dictate a review (see EGM for another example).

What part of the multiplayer was strikingly opinionated? There is truth to how a multiplayer functions and what and who it serves the best. It has also steered clear from the classic Halo formula with the current default settings. There is no opinion on this: this is how it is.
The only debatable discussion you can have is whether you enjoy what Halo has become.

It can definitely change for the better, though. The problem is I don’t have confidence in 343’s willingness to steer away from their new designs. They’d probably feel dishonored in doing so. Embarrassed even.
Wow, that article completely sums up my experience. They completely copied Call of Duty, a game that I don’t like! Now it’s just a bunch of mindless shooting with no strategy. I think multiplayer is a big disappointment for true Halo fans.
Well, I had a topic similar to this and it was locked. I guess you are only allowed to post about the game if you are in love with it. Very sad that Halo now has more in common with CoD than past Halo titles.
