*PLEASE READ* DEAR 343i & VIRGIN GAMING

There are Legal reasons on why they can’t accept minors.

It’s against federal law (US) for businesses to award individuals under the age of 18 any form of money.

No need to rude, it is a legitimate question, there is a lot of talent being missed out

Damn. Well thanks!

> Hello, i’m a 17 year old halo player, im VERY skilled, not to be cocky , id say top 10%. I’d like to compete in the halo 4 global championship, and I think its a little unfair to make such a age limit, is there some way I can have parental consent (lol) I want to join this!

No they can’t give you special privileges, 18+ sorry.

I think the only disappointing thing about the Global Tournament is that residents of Maryland, Connecticut, Quebec, Arizona, and a few more states/provinces are unable to participate.

Guess what everyone: I’m of the appropriate age to participate, but I live in Maryland! Yay!

I’m sorry, I just must point this out. What are you, a kid who claims to be top10% and played 18 matches where 17 of them are BTB? I know this is superdouchy, I just hate braggers.

Because smoking and playing video games are the same thing.

… MLG gave you your prize even if you were under age at the time the prize was supposed to be given to you, the only thing you needed was a parental consent format signed by your parents.

lol , srry but it is the rules.

ok just a quick question. i signed up for the global championship and im registered and everything, but i went to go become a member on -Yoink!- gamings site it says i wants old enough. im 18 and it still wont let me sign up on there actual site. should i be worried?

Did you enter the correct birthdate information when prompted?

You would think a simple no they wont allow it would be plenty enough but NNNOOOO about 15 other people have to say they wont allow it as well

cough cough cough What are you even… cough cough cough …talking about mate?

No but really… Smoking = // = Video games.

Next up: License to kill!

So I’m guessing if we get a PRE-REGISTRATION / ENLISTMENT DOCUMENT in the email we can compete?

How about register your parents name IE your dad and then just play and if you win something say it was him?

Hey OP i agree with you and how you say you should be able to join.i turned 18 last year and now i cal finally get in these things. Even thought i was better than alot of other gamers i never got a chance to show that i can be better. Also to those who are saying 18+ i have nothing against you but Halo 4 is rated M 17+ so technically ESRB 343i, -Yoink!- Gaming or the Government shouldn’t be able to stop him. He/She is 17 and the game is rated 17+ so i don’t know about rejecting someone who has permission to play the game when alot of people want to play in tournaments that are around the minor limit. Don’t say the game is 17+ if a 17 year old can’t play in the Leagues. Thats like saying you can buy cigarettes at age 17 but can’t smoke them until 18.

Thats my argument i didn’t read any above sorry if somone already put this but this person should be able to play if he/she is clearly skilled enough.

No, just no. It has nothing to do with players being talented or skilled.

Your arguement has about as much to it as saying: if a minor is good at playing poker he should be allowed to compete in tournaments, if its illegal for him to play in a tournament then it should be illegal for him to buy a poker set to begin with.

If you buy Halo, you are free to play it as much as you want when no money is involved, as soon as its an official tournament with pay outs of course there are going to be legal requirements you must meet that didn’t apply when buying the game. Its perfectly legal for a 2 year old to play halo (presumably depending on your location), that doesn’t mean 2 year olds should be allowed to use halo to compete for cash prizes. And if you’re going to say “don’t be ridiculous I’m talking about 17 years olds not 2 year olds”, if the law states 18+, then that 17 year old may as well be 2 years old.

“Very skilled,” “top 10%,” yet you have only played 17 games (most of them being Big Team nonetheless). You have got to be kidding me.

Yeah, dude it makes me wish that this whole thing wasn’t real. Why are we excluded? I never asked to be born a minor. It’s like I’m being punished for living. Or not living at a specific time. I put a lot work into this game, and really aspire to get money doing this, but things like this get in my way. How old was Pistola when he started? Ninja? This is bs. Regardless of any of that, I put in my parent’s birthday. If I win something so be it. I’ll get the satisfaction beating you all.

I just…wow. Did you just admit to lying your age? You’ll be disqualified before you make it to the live round. If you make it that far you’ll be disqualified and in trouble.
