Please re-add the ability save films permanently.

I cannot conceive of a logical reason why this was taken out. It can’t be because of a technical limitation because the films are already right there on the hard-drive. Now we’re stuck with only 12 temporary slots shared between three different multiplayers. This functionality existed in Halo 3, 4 and Reach. Without being able to save films, theater has limited use for me.

Game Types, Map Variants, and Screenshots all have the option for local storage (but even these have a low cap for some silly reason), but the option is inexplicably missing for films. The disturbing conclusion I’m left to come to is that they removed the option to keep films so that they could force the Xone’s mediocre clip feature on us.

Please 343… don’t ignore this.

Couldnt you use the Xbox one’s built in video recording? Maybe that’s why they didnt put it in there, since the functionality is build into the console.

The Xbox DVR is not a replacement, not while it records at low quality 720p and 30fps.

I specifically addressed exactly that. The Xone’s clip feature is absolutely nowhere even close to the functionality of the games built in film feature. It’s a very very poor substitute. There is simply no reason the feature shouldn’t be there. Especially since, as I said, the films are already right there on the console. Why not allow us to save those?

Ive used theater in halo 3 for 8 years. ALso reach and H4. They’re nice and easy and awesome. Then to MCC: I try to save my most recent game where I go berserk or at least watch it…CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE. Probably every other game is on there I played today like 14 of them. They aren’t in any order at all. How duz it go from 7pm to 1am back to 9:15pm…WTF?? Im clueless with the local files/temporary/theater games…

Agreed.

No. Theater gives you different angles, slow motion, fast forward, etc. The limited and low res Game DVR is no replacement for that. 343i actually made that decision that we wouldn’t want to save it. Shocking.

Seriously, It’s a shame that the severe matchmaking issues are overshadowing this problem (although I understand why). I’d really like to know what 343 was thinking. I need my films, 343. Being able to save as many films as I wanted was one of my favorite features of Halo 3, 4, and Reach.

What’s even more of a shame is that Theater actually works better than ever thanks to the 60fps and increased power of the Xone over the 360. And then they go and ruin it by completely removing the option to actually save films. Ugh…

Maybe if they ever got matchmaking working, they could start addressing other issues…

I already lost my first perfection film since there was no way I could save it.

Sure I have the whole thing captured in 1080p 60 fps with my elgato capture card but I still wanted to save the film for my collection. I have hundreds of films saved in Halo 3 xbox 360 and don’t understand why we cant here.
