Played last night to get placed in swat with friends… Went 20 kills plus near every game. One of our friends is pretty bad and didn’t get that many kills… Guess where I placed -Yoink!- GOLD 2. DO YOU KNOW WHERE MY FRIEND PLACED? GOLD 1!!! When I carry the team or do really well… Also winning most of the games in placement. Please give me a reason to play ranked and care about my ranks when BS like this happens… I should be at least platinum in swat. I don’t even want to place in any playlists because of this BS system
What rank were you both last season? What ranks were the people you were playing against?

That should not matter a good k/d is what should matter

This is the key.
If you do well in the early games of your ranking then the system should give you the opportunity to play some tougher opponents and earn a higher rank.
I’ve noticed a lot of people (myself included) have described anomolous ranks awarded when playing ranking games with friends. I get the impression that the algorithm struggles to balance the incoming opponents when your fireteam has different ranks… which results in some people either being ranked too high (carried up by someone) or too low (dragged down by their team-mates).
Interesting that it was the former (ranking up) that was a big problem in the first two seasons… but now a lot of people are lamenting that they aren’t high enough. Maybe 343i have tweaked the system a little too far the other way to try and compensate?
Ok so i looked at the matches you played and everyone you were facing were silver or gold and you were not going 20+ kills a game, you were going about 13. You also did not win almost all of your matches it was around 7/10.
The system takes into factor what ranks you played against, if you one etc. You may have won against silvers but lost against people that were platinum last season (if they were unranked) there fore you should be placed in gold. Im sorry but I think you around were you should be.

Nope. Backpacking friends should not drag me down. Looks like this was moved to where no one reads…
It should if your friends are making you lose. Arena is competitive play not social hour. If you want social modes that are unranked than play social BTB or warzone. All because you disagree with were you were ranked does not mean its not were your suppose to be. Stop your complaining and prove me and the system wrong, win your way up the ranks.
Oh and by the way I have read your posts carefully and have taken the time to analyze your placement matches to determine if you are right or wrong and according to the information available you. are. wrong. your ranking is completely justified by what ranked you won/lost against and how well you did each match. You friends won the same matches as you which is why they have a similar rank, however they did worse than you which explains why they are slightly lower than you. Think logically not with emotion like you are.
Who cares, it’s SWAT. It’s not that hard to rank up in it. I usually do pretty good in SWAT and occasionally lose to bad teammates. Sure its frustrating but I also take responsibility for not partying up with friends or making new friends to play with. I don’t take this ranking system seriously; in a month I’m sure they will reset it again anyway…

No it does and it should matter. What good is a 9.0k/d if you’re only ever playing new players who don’t know how to play? The system needs to take into account multiple factors in order for it accurately, or as accurately as possible, work out what your rank should be. If k/d was the sole means of ranking, Halo would be nothing but stat padding 24/7.

sorry this system is screwed up. id be happier with the 1-50 system… a win in a win. win ranks up. not win but oh that guy is new at halo so we wont grant you that rank.
