Please please lose the ghosts on Deadlock

I searched the forums but couldn’t find this so sorry if it’s been posted before

Please get rid of the ghosts on Deadlock. Standoff IMO was one of the best Halo maps ever and adding ghosts completely changes the flow of the game for the worse. You needed to make constant use of the cover to protect against the open sight-lines on this map and the ghosts kind of just poop all over that. I think there was a very good reason you didn’t see one in the original map. It just becomes too central and craps on the epic BR fights, the value of a good run-out in the hog, and the occasional audacious dash in the mongoose.

Just a hog and a mongoose each would be fine. This might - maybe - create a need to rethink the power weapons but I think that would be worth it.

PS - while you’re at it I would also lost the gungooses (gungeese?!) here in favour of the standard model. They’re a funny novelty but again they turn it into more of a playground than a pure Halo experience, save 'em for Warzone.

I can see getting rid of the ghosts, but the gungeese have to stay. The mongoose is literally the most pointless vehicle in Halo MP, and removing all viable single occupant vehicles would be a mistake.

The gungoose is BS and has no real place in competitive matches. It’s actually pretty easy to kill someone with its guns and not the easiest to get headshotted out of as bullets seem to just go into the gungoose.

The mongoose had a very legitimate use in previous halos, a two man team to cap flags or go flank a base or just to be able to close the distance quickly.

But unfortunately, it doesn’t really matter what you change because this map is just balls compared to the actual standoff. All these forge maps are just really crappy, and worse looking shadows of their former selves.

You know what I wish 343i would do? If they HAVE to have nothing but forged maps for BTB then why not make original maps with forge? So they are actually fun and functional and not trying to copy older better maps and failing?

I think they should fix the spawns and random base swapping before they fix anything else.

Nothing worse than standing on top of your base or at DMR spawn and the enemy team starts spawning behind you or when you start spawning in the enemies base whilst it’s full…

Yea the ghosts dominate on this map.

Yeah guys OK the spawns are pretty annoying I’ll give you that, they could take some work. But I still think canning the ghost would be a quick win.

I say keep the ghosts, both teams have access to them and there are two spawn places for plasma pistols in each base.

They do need to fix the weird spawning/base swapping thing. It makes Strongholds very bizarre.

Ghosts and gungoose are a pain the butt -__-

Agree with various points here, the ghosts need to go and the spawning needs work. I understand the logic behind the flow of spawning and base swapping, but I should not have 3 people spawning behind me with my head in their reticule.

Meh, both teams could have sniper rifles too - surely anyone can see that doesn’t make it the right choice for deadlock… :slight_smile:
