Nothing worse in competitive gameplay when your behind all four guys, go to attempt to get a clean back smack and you jump on him to snap his neck which takes 5 seconds. Then the entire team is looking at you like “lets get him”
seriously how do you not like this feature? I understand it messes up sometimes but man just adapt to change. It will be in halo 4. Also you can hit the melee button lightly to not do the assassination, you dont have to hold it lol

I quite like them, to be honest. Correct me if I’m wrong though, assassinations are still optional to perform, yes? So…just don’t press the button too hard

OT: Tapping the melee button is a bypass to assassinations, but it isn’t a good one, I’ve tapped it many times before only to be greeted by a proper assassination and not a back smack.
I’d like to see an option to make it so no matter how much you hold down the melee button it will always be a back smack.

have to agree with thee Moa on this one, the option is much needed/wanted.

its a dumb thing to complain about since its in reach and 4. They will not remove something like this

people complain about dumb things that arnt going to be taken serious, which is why no one should take what i said serious since its my opinion.

I assume latency issues come up when the system “thinks” you held it down. Which is why you end up performing an assassination even if you just tapped the button.

Your opinion stunk and so did your attitude towards the guy, you’re free to express your own opinion, but damn, do it with a kinder tone.
I honestly have never been annoyed by assassinations. I backsmack when there are multiple enemies waiting to be killed and assassinate when there is a sniper or person that I am following who is unaware of me.

That’s one of the main problems, dodgy third party controllers and just worn out controllers in general can cause you to ‘hold it down’ when you just tap.
A toggle option would be superb so those who want them can keep them.

What part of your post had your opinion in it? you told him not play halo because he doesn’t like assassinations.

the title is misleading which is why i acted the way i did. I kinda said something i shouldn’t have because he said they should remove assassinations all together because it messes up sometimes. Thats why i said a dumb comment because i felt like it was stupid to state.

thats a matter of opinion and even if it were true its pretty obvious its not “dumb” to the person whos making the complaint.
for some (especially competitive) people I can see why they would be annoyed by this, and it seems like a pretty simple thing for them to fix (by giving us the option).

Last time i checked your pushing a button. The animation isnt optional its random. Your button isnt push sensitive nor do i hold it down for longer then a milla second
It seems that ppl think that if you type words “skill” and/or “competitive” your -Yoink- opinion becomes more better than others.
Do some freaking finger yoga if you can’t tap that melee button…
