Throughout entire halo’s history(expect for CE maybe), autorifles have served nothing more than “shield eaters” in the multiplayer sandbox. This gave a balance to the purpose of autorfiles and precision weapons in the game. Autos took down shields faster then precisions, and precisions cleaned up the no shields faster. However, in Halo 5 this relationship has literally went down the drains. Autorifles have an absolute upper hand in almost every medium/short range situation. We see top players dropping the pistol for a snipe and keeping their AR since it can clean up no shield, it takes A LOT less effort to aim and can be as effective in short/medium range with the critical bonuses they are given now. Also, we see people crouching around with storm rifles around corners and there is nothing anybody can do about it since it can literally you up close kill you in 0.5 seconds.
Whoever responsible for the balancing of the weapon roles in this game PLEASE NERF THE AUTOS
Autorifles = Automatic rifles (Assault rifles, storm rifles)
According to the community everything needs to be nerfed. Assault rifles, BR’s, pistols you name it, I’ve heard someone -Yoink- that it’s too overpowers. So if everything’s overpowerd, than nothing is actually overpowerd.
Ummmm, no. I’m fine with super hardcore BR only playlists if you really really want them, but we will NOT ruin it for the rest of us simply because you dont like CQC weapons being better than your long range weapons at close range…
You have an assault rifle too, it’s there for a reason. All the time I see people complaining about the AR, and how its a skilless weapon, but if it so easy to use, why don’t you use it? You spawn with it, just like everyone else. As for the storm rifle, that’s a power weapon now.
While the AR is much better than it used to be, it is still way outplayed by EVERY other gun in the sanbox right now. If anything it needs a slight buff.

Excuse my offensive language, but are you guys stupid? do you not know what automatic rifles are? I know what an Assault rifle is and i am referring the AUTOMATIC WEAPONS in this game.
Yeah Im down with the AR being perfect. Magnums a lovely bit of competition at close range. 343 nailed it here. Some of the other autos may need tweaking but as they are not loadout weapons it doesn’t matter as much (unlike H4). Promeath auto Rifle (I forget the name) is nice, homing projectiles but shorter ranged, kind of under powered maybe as I’ve started selling them, certainly not ‘power weapons’. Storm kind of bugs me but I trust It’s been tested - feels like it overheats too quickly and range certainly doesn’t compensate but perhaps I’m too addicted holding the trigger down?
I’m a bit of a noob. So having that great AR utility weapon for close range is the only thing stopping that decreased auto aim/increased skill gap from blowing me away. But the magnum and BR are coming into play now ;). Would suck if it was all 4 shot headshots though, am I right?
i couldnt agree more. i really wish the AR way just a beast of its own and that you didnt spawn with it. If it was OP as -Yoink- but you just spawn with a pistol then i would love it. i just hate that every noob has one and they just spray and pray. they kill you so fast even when you use a pistol or br. They are way too easy to use and they dont require much aim. Also they can shoot much much farther.
idk doesnt matter we we think though because noobs will want it kept in the game and would just rage if its got any nerf at all. The one guy who said it should be improved just made a laughable statement lmao

Destiny players also have endless threads about nerfing weapons and abilities they lose to alot. Everytime they introduce something new, everyone not using it cries…kinda like how they finally have the titan something good, and so many people cried they are nerfing it. But that’s what happens when you embrace an unbalanced pvp. But yeah auto riffles are destiny weapons.
I can’t believe people are actually trying to get this gun of all guns nerfed? lol might i suggest banging your head on a cupboard wall or something to that effect because its the AR is fine as it is especially the standard one. The BR outclasses the AR as does the magnum in the right hands.
