Not everyone wants to hear kids screaming foul language, arguing with parents, kids crying, etc. I know about the option to mute all but since that seems to work %50 of the time anyways could you please just have the lobby muted by default. It gets old starting a game only to have some 12 year old repeat words he learned at school that day while my 6 year old is sitting in the floor playing. I know there are other work arounds like party chat but the point of work arounds is acknowledging that the default method is flawed.
Soooo in a cooperative game in which communication is key we should block the ability to communicate by default? No thank you
Tap the control stick it work most of the time now.
Sorry that’s not how it works. Go into party chat and there you go.
Lmao #firstworldproblems.

Do you give the same responses to all the threads that complain about no one uses their mic? Congrats, you gave a snappy comeback. Maybe the mods are watching and you think they will give you an opportunity to be a monitor with your witty garble.

No but then again those posts were not about muting everyone by default those were just about people not talking. My point still stands, the game is cooperative by design (unless your playing FFA) so by turning off the communication by default you are breaking that cooperative link. It should stay optional as it is and if anything should be a setting in which the player can set the default for themselves not universally. Way to sound like a child though with you response, you get a gold star.
When do any of these things even happen? I almost never hear little kids or even kids in general.

I know what you’re asking and I like this option of being able to set the default option. Let’s not forget the thumb press mute was added just a few patches ago and hasn’t worked correctly since. Side note I don’t understand why OP is getting attacked. Our only way to communicate to 343 is through the forums and he/she isn’t alone on this idea. Out of all the responses only one of them was not sarcastic or negative.

Seriously? If I go three matches without hearing someone under 12 it would be a cause for celebration. I’ve played with at least one 5 year-old. He was rather adamant and vocal about his age. Generally it is a split between kids or teenagers spouting racial slurs.

i find those kids commical, i leave them on just for a good laugh lol
so pressing the thumbstick is too hard?
It takes less time to press the stick than it did to make this post.

If you would have read the post or comments you wouldn’t look so out of place right now. You better hurry up and comment with something sarcastic to save face.

Was my original comment slightly snarky? Ya, but it was the only way I could think of presenting my point while stating my opinion on the matter. He then provided a child like response in a much more enhanced way. I was never attacking him, if you are referring to my last sentence in my last post, I viewed it as more of an observation on how he was acting towards my original response. I still provided reasoning behind my viewpoint and even added another particular path. At least i did not just say “press the stick.”

It’s bad enough to hear someone fapping in the first place. Which unfortunately has happened twice. Sometimes you have to get up and do things in between games and you can’t hit mute. What is bad about it is that you have no idea who was guilty and no way to report it. Either show who is mic’d or mute everyone til the game starts.
I have been lucky I guess, as the mute all,has always worked for me. If it didn’t I would go into a solo party thus making it work the way you propose it to be.

If you play solo (which believe it or not is a common thing in any video game) it’s common for the mute all function to stop working entirely even in game after the lobby. Since the update it hasn’t been as much of a problem but once it stops working all chat options stop working. Congrats on never having the problem, but that doesn’t make the OP lazy or you better than them. Say something constructive or get out.
Oh and to whoever is saying it would mess up communication in parties I’m pretty sure the OP figured itbwas common sense that the people muted by default are randoms, not party members.
There’s a button for that stop being lazy.
