Okay, before anyone starts reading and just assumes this is another thread about someone complaining, please keep in mind I have been playing Halo for 15 years. Also, I have a pretty good k/d in each Halo game so I’m not some noob with no experience or doesnt know how to play.
I love Halo, but now it has me worried I will only want to stick to playing the campaign and avoid the multiplayer aspect completely. I always end up playing Halo 5 for a couple games until I get mad and switch back to the old games.
I just would like to see how others feel about some of the changes I think should be made, so please keep it clean in here.
1. Automatic/Melee weapons with Smart Link
- They should not be allowed to have this feature. It is absurd the range for these weapons increase along with more accuracy. The other day I was moving through a map, and I began to get shot from behind by an assault rifle. By the time I turned around And saw the player I was only able to get 1 shot off before I was killed. On top of that, he was more than 10 feet away. There is absolutely no reason as to why an automatic weapon should be able to kill me that fast from that distance. This brings me to my next point.
2. Increase Kill Times
- One of the most appealing aspects of Halo is it has always given the player being shot first the chance to fight back unlike other games, such as COD and Battlefield. Now, almost 99 percent of the time if I’m shot first I barely have any time or chance of countering. It’s now become a game of who sees who first.
3. The Aiming
- Please go back to the old aiming. I always find myself struggling with the reticule. In the beta, I did just fine, but now it’s pain to aim, specifically at long ranges or up close. The reticule no longer “pops” to the area I want to aim but instead “drags” and it makes it hard when people are jumping around and using thrusters.
4. Spartan Charge
- Get rid of this all together. The only thing this does is give players the abilty to increase the range of their melee. Now you have players running around looking to just spartan charge and finish you off with an automatic. It reminds of how players run around in COD with just the knife/pistol combo.
5. Increase Motion Sensor Range
- This goes hand in hand with the spartan charge. With the decrease in motion sensor range and the ability to sprint + spartan charge, players now have the ability to sneak up on you much faster without you having any time to react.
6. Give Us the Choice to Party Up After a Match
- I believe this feature was in Halo 3. After playing a a match there was an option for players to press X to party up and continue playing with the same team as before. I believe this should return because when hopping into a playlist alone it is aggravating to be put on a team with terrible teammates who have no communication. If I play on a team and we do well, I would like the ability to continue playing with them immediately after the game is over rather than going through the process of backing out and trying to send each person and individual invite. By the time I go to do so, the other players are already in another match.
I definitly go with point 2
The new movement system play well, fine and smooth. But i never understood why halo needs it? A spartan is some stoic worior for me who stand there firing his gun, while he gives not a single fu** about whos shooting him, like the tanks on legs they are suposed to be
I dont know what is the sensor range in halo 5 but i liked how it was in reach. you had 25 meters. You had to sneak, crouched to not apear on it. In halo 5 you can stand and still walk fast, realtivly, and still not apear on the motion tracker.
I would also like it if the zoom would be just a zoom, but the smart links fidels with the acurancy, bullet spread of the weapons. A laser sight smg is damm precise, the ar has become nearly worthless becuase of these system.
But i dont know why 343 cant even make small chnages in halo 5 with a big impact, To choose the color of your undersuite by yourself would be a easy feature, just a few lines of code to integrate, but nothing has come. Or a simple filter or sorting option for your reqs, armors helmets etc. A simple fuing filter option god dait. We got a skip option, after a fu**ing year. 1 year?
sry tiping took some time
not a native spaeker here
1 thru 5 are not getting changed. The game is over a year old now. Those things are set in stone. 6 might be a possibility.
I personally like most of the new features that Halo 5 has to offer.
I’m not a huge fan of the Spartan charge as with the shorter radar it makes it difficult to counter.
I believe automatics are fine, do they have more range then before? Yes. Is it game changing? IMO no.
Being able to stay in the same party through matches would be a nice addition.
Hey…I’m really agreeing with the person that posted this!
Does anyone else feel it’s more about who sees who first now though?

- The main issue is really the headshot bonus and the general amount of them on the map
2.I personally think your wrong, of course if shot first on the other player doesn’t miss (perfected) you wont have a chance, but there are any tools at ones exposel to adequately hinder that aim and give the other you a fighting chance.
3.General aim assist was reduced, the main issue with aiming is that damn snap that seems to occur, though this last update fixed some issues it still occurs.
- dont disagree
5.for social yes, otherwise get rid of it.
6.hmmmm maybe better then getting spanned by invites post match. Dont see anything wrong with it being added.

If it does cause drift, try setting your dead zones to 0. It works wonders in terms of making the aiming feel better.

Yeah, seeing the person first gives you an advantage, but you seem to die way faster in this game than in other halo’s, so the person who sees you first has a way higher chance of killing you, which goes against the way the other halo’s played.
In any of the other halo’s I could have two players going against me and still hold my own, but now if two come at me I domt even have a chance because the damage from the guns cause my health to drop so much faster than in past halo’s.
Also, with the aiming, I can be in close quarters and if i happen to have my pistol out and want to aim for their head, the reticule doesnt just allow me to quickly pop it right to their head but instead it drags across the screen. It could be my deadzones but i dont know the best setting to put them at
