Snipers needs to be ranked. Ranked playlists draw in a lot more people, you enjoy playing when there is more on the line and it is more competitive. I will never understand why they just dont make the best classic playlists permanent/ranked - Doubles, Snipers, MLG/Hardcore, Slayer, Objective, BTB.
A good ranking/fixed system with classic ranked playlists will bring so many people back to the game after the patch.
It’s been a ranked playlist that has come and gone over the years. The long term population doesn’t justify keeping it as a permanent playlist
MCC was broken so no surprise population was down.
Ranked snipers has always been a popular playlist, a fixed game + ranked, the population will return.

H2 and H3 snipers population was very large.
MCC has been buggy which is why population on MCC is not realiable but post insider patch with the game fixed and ranking system fixed population in snipers will be strong if it becomes ranked, no one who plays competitive gaming wants to play social.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.
I’ve been playing Halo competitively since '03, and although I do love Team Snipers, I just don’t see the need for a permanent ranked version of it due to the consistently low population. I think it would perform better as a rotational/hopper thing. But indeed I would absolutely love to be able to play just H2 Team Snipers again.
Snipers doesn’t need to be ranked or permanent. Not enough people want to only play snipers.
I would be fine with this, but it should then also be placed in the generic Team Slayer playlist for social play. I would have it appear more in the rotation though.
The thing is the population is so low because ranking system is currently messed up, if this gets addressed in the retail ‘insider patch’ then population will increase. You will be suprised how many people want to play where ranks mean something.
So saying snipers is population is low is wrong, ofcourse it will be low the game does not work at the moment. Believe you me population in H2 and H3 ranked was high and very fun due to the competitive nature of being 40-50 and matching other 40-50s.
Sniper, Doubles, BTB, Hardcore/MLG, Objective, Slayer should be ranked in the up and coming patch, assuming they do fix the ranking system.

Wrong. Team Snipers had one of the biggest populations in the best halos (2 & 3). I had over 2000 wins on my 50 and knew everyone in the playlist. Snipers was a PERMANENT ranked playlist.
Imo they should have ranked btb and ranked snipers along with social counterparts.Halo 3 doesnt need a hardcore and an arena playlist.its masterchief collection and only 3 out of 4 of the games have ranked playlists.
The playlists were designed based on community playtime and feedback.
If the ranking system changed it would probably bring more people to ranked, but in its current format its almost impossible to get a game of ranked. I hope they keep it social so I can keep playing, even if it’s the same players every day.
