Please make CSR visible in game lobbies.

From ingame description:

> CSR measures your ability against opponents of each skill level
> Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Onyx.
>
> Your rank will improve when you preform better than expected.
>
> Play 10 matches in a ranked playlist to determine your starting CSR for the season.

Great that this is in the game for ranked.

I hope we’re able to see the CSR of players in matchmaking, to better judge my own performance.

For example if I get a 0.9 k/d against better-tiered enemies, I will know I’m actually improving. But if that was a mostly Silver team then I’ll know I gotta’ get it together.

Having visible CSR might prove negative too. Players might see higher CSR players and quit, equally some might be on a team of lower ranks and quit too. Not trying to be overly negative, but not all players use ranks in a positive way. Then you’ll get the ones that just want to stat bash.

In a perfect world it wouldn’t be needed… matchmaking would have access to team-mates and enemies nigh on identical to yourself.

But I’m sure we’ll see everyone’s rank after the match.

But not in social. I’m all for not showing the toxic stats and such. The result is all that matters.

What I would like to see in ranked though is the overall CSR of the teams… for when matchmaking can’t get the exact balance. One team is usually the ‘favourite’ and you get more reward for winning as the underdog.

I never understood why people want to pad their stats. Is it some form of imaginary bragging rights? Just sad.

Anyway, how about showing us the CSR in the post game report?

I wouldn’t mind seeing the ranks like the Halo 3 days. You could see everyone’s highest skill in the social lobbies and H3 didn’t have a vagrant quitting issue.

That being said the penalty for quitting was high, as you lost exp and that was directly tied to your progression.

Knowing people’s ranks before the game always let me know how serious I’d need to play. I don’t use my Competitive strats or mindset if I know I’m playing less experienced players which I’m sure is a nicer experience for them.

Post game would be ok I suppose. I’m just trying to point out that pre match stats can be problematic, like you I don’t get the need to pad stats, but unfortunately it happens. There’s relevance too, for example K/D is not needed to determine a players skill in ctf imo. However, if you’re heading into a slayer match with three players on a 0.6 K/D I can see quitters.

For me there are too many negatives associated to pre game stats being visible. Post game is completely different as the match has been played. I would not hang around to check everyone out if I’m being honest, I usually boot up the next games as soon as I can. I suppose I might look if it was a blowout result or there seemed to be a player doing just too good.

Truth is, I’m ok either way, I just play the game, but there are those players that cannot help themselves and sometimes prevention is better than cure imo.

In competitive games I see it logical and useful. But in social games I see it as unnecessary nonsense as well as having global statistics of the social games played.

Why do we want global statistics in social games? We literally have game modes like infection or grifball, and more. People play social games for fun and to do crazy things. These statistics are useless, as is looking at the CSR level of the players.

You bring up an interesting point. How can the game measure strategic skill level in CTF? I can escort the flag carrier or even drive him to the gates and not get any registered points in the post game scoreboard.

Even if the game starts recording passenger time in the hog, It still won’t be able to catch all the surrounding strategic plays. Here’s a video of me literally carrying the flag carrier on top of my ghost:

Would be cool as we don’t see players before games now to see it in the game menu. So when you bring up the scoreboard if next to each player’s name it has their top rank and a little symbol dictating what mode that is.

For example if they are a Diamond 5 in Ranked Grifball and it is their highest rank ever it shows the Diamond 5 symbol with the hammer next to it.

You could have some for duos like two skulls or something. Anything really, just make it unique.

if they do it post game i wonder if it would be all time highest (like how halo 5 shows on our profiles) or just the highest that season?

From the ingame description, as quoted in OP, I get the feeling that the CSR will be fluid, i.e. resetting each season. Anyway it’s the current CSR I want to see.

If you’re even remotely skilled at the game, you should be able to EASILY tell if a player is silver level or onyx level lmao

My opinion is quite simple in this matter. CSR is for ranked games and you should trust that in ranked you are matched with similar players, which will be visible in the postgame carnage report.

Bringing visible CSR (in the player banner f.e.) to social playlists will only facilitate toxicity. Based on your own actions, fights and interactions you should be able to judge how you did in social.

I really don’t trust the SBMM to put me in an even team evenly matched with an enemy team of even composition. There’s not enough equal players. There will be Bronze, Silver, Gold etc. all over the carnage report and I want to know who’s who.

I didn’t say anything about Social, but now that you bring it up; I don’t see the harm in seeing the CSR in the postgame carnage report. Especially if lobbies are refreshed after each game like it was in this Beta. But I agree, I don’t want it in the player banners before/during match.

How do you feel about seeing input (Controller or KBM) in the carnage report in social?
