Please make a MIC REQUIRED playlist!

This has been a wish of mine for some time now. I would love it if there was a MIC REQUIRED playlist. It would be tricky to implement, but overall I would think it would be great.

Halo’s all have the icon acknowledging if a mic is plugged in or not, so use that trigger to allow the playlist to be searchable. At this point, it may get tricky, as you wouldn’t want to kick someone out of a game for their mic unplugging in case of an accidental unplug, but perhaps have a check situation in-between games before they continue searching. That way, unless someone really wants to plug and unplug their mic every game, they will keep it on.

Now, some people may argue that it is their choice to not have a mic in. That’s true, and there will be other playlists for you. This is no greater of a punishment than getting timed-out for quitting games. You also have a right to quit games, but there is a penalty for harming others’ gameplay. Being unable to communicate with teammates can be just as disabling, and sometimes even more so.

It’s not that people’s mics aren’t plugged in, it’s that everyone is in party chat. They need to make a playlist that you have to be in game chat, like Cod does with Search and Destroy. There needs to be a hardcore playlist that oarty chat is disabled, and it needs to be disabled in Breakout

Yes thanks for that, I meant to include a disabled party chat option as well.

I must admit i’m completely guilty of being in Party chat to one of my freinds while playing online as its usually more fun talking to them than randoms due to how they seem to act, it’s easier to just keep it zipped.

The days of Rainbow Six Vegas where if you didn’t have a mic you were kicked worked surprisingly well and people weren’t just complete tossers.

If a mic required playlist / disabled parties playlist came in i think it could bring back something good

I could see this in a mlg sort of playlist

agree^^

i could see a ranked or mlg playlist where game chat and a mic are required

Well now Halo has a deal with ESL so it would be an ESL playlist, not MLG, but I’m sure they would title it HCS just like in H2A.

I think it would do wonders for the title as a whole, and stop a lot of teammate frustration.

I would never play this playlist.

I could support this if its on only one playlist because i dont want to hear some 10 year old squeaking every other match. I can only deal with it if that 10 year old is calling out enemy positions or something along those lines and not singing what does the fox say.

But that’s the beauty of the Mute button. With mics required (personally I’d push for this option in all ranked playlists) it would force teammates to be initially present, and then allow you to weed out the ones you don’t want to hear.

Yes, people don’t realize that you can mute people, or are just lazy fat -Yoinks!- who don’t feel like pressing 2 buttons if not just one.

Sure, why not?

What an awful idea is that?
We play Xbox not “dictation box”
If people dont wanna talk let them.
To make only a list for people that have a mic is silly.
Better spend the extra work on making a cool playlist instead of a mic only match.

no i dont want to deal with the garbage i call lobby chat. it didnt work in cod i would go to private match or change my chat setting altogether so i only heard friends. also a mic req playlist is so ez to get around… plug in mic than mute it since i dont want to talk. and lets get real you cannot force people to use mics actively in public matches

Here’s exactly what will happen: People will go into game chat, have their communication settings set to mute all by default, and we’ll still be in the same situation we are now.

You guys underestimate the fun that restricts party chat. All the interactions and trash talk will probably make you laugh. S&D is the only thing I play in CoD, that and it’s the only type of gametype with proper spawns (no spawns hahaha)

Couldn’t people just plug in their mics and leave them on the floor or the seat next to them…

Either stuck listening to someone with a squeaky voice tell me how much they love naruto, or be verbally assaulted by someone half a world away for fifteen minutes because your team is losing… because naruto-fan is giving the other team kills…

They could do whatever they want, but the gametype would be nice for people who want to chat and make friends, or just talk trash. haha
