That would actually be a game changer. If you want Halo Infinite to last 10 years players NEED to be able to add AI to forge maps.
I want this to happen just so I can trap somebody in a pit with 47 Hunters
I want this to create a pit full of jackal snipers, kamikaze grunts, and launcher flood (if the flood is indeed present at launch).
Such a feature would be difficult to implement, but it would be great to see nonetheless.
I definitely need this in forge. How else am I supposed to practice on my own time? I want to be able to use interesting prefabs on covies as well. Would be happy to see AI in forge.
Would be awesome… But very difficult to implement. AI algorithms need to know where the player is coming from, what weapons are in play, and what options they have to do.
I think everyone would be behind the idea of creating ai in forge and have have been from the very start. The bigger problem for me and plenty others is that Forge will very likely yet again be behind an always online mode and so anything great you create that you could play still potentially 15 or 20 years down the line isn’t actually guaranteed. We wont know what the process shall be at that time and so you basically lose everything if the authentication of such things is gone. And that’s fine for those of the here and now but for other creators who perhaps take their work very seriously enough that they account for these things, potentially being locked out for no reason other that apparently Forge ‘requires online’ means it’s a waste of time for them
Plenty of Forge users simply don’t use the mode now which is a shame considering how excellent it obviously is. The argument is that everybody has internet now but that’s never been the issue anyway
Was watching a video the other day of someone recreating a working Destiny raid in Halo 5 forge. They had to have other players play as the enemies but having AI in forge could really enhance that.
I like the idea as do a lot of people but we also need to consider AI scripting would need to be improved immensely. Having custom maps will 100% break AI in some fashion.
Lets also not forget technical processing power too. Whilst I’m sure the Series X/S consoles & PC could handle it fine for the most part what about older consoles? Maps need to work across the board not just one select platforms.
I feel like there’s a lot of oversight on this. It’s not really as easy as just add AI into forge.
AI need parameters and all sorts of technical functions to work proper within a play space
Would love it! AI in forge is a dream come true, even with all the issues that it will definitely ship with! However, 343i for the most part has added what the community was against and cut what we asked for the most. If this trend goes on, yeah… Forget it!

Agreed.
I bet it’s a lot more difficult that any of us plebs can imagine.
Like, will the AI be complex enough to know how to traverse a forge map, and engage with it and the players in a reasonable way?
Im imagining enemies running into walls, congregating in certain spots, etc.
Then there’s the scripting side of things, like spawn here, move here, wait there. It sounds simple, but it’s hurting my brain just thinking about how difficult that would be to implement, AND THEN create a user friendly interface that we can understand.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see it, but I’m not banking on it.
You can basically recreated Firefight or even campaign levels with that power
I’m 100% sure 343 will atleast try or consider it.
If they can pull this off on the technical level, it’s going to open up so many more options. Even looking past brand new modes that mix PvE and PVP, just being able to create new campaign like levels would add so much longevity to the game.
