Please let us know when the remaining content is coming

It’s time to let us know, please. There’s so much in MCC that still needs doing. It will appease the hardcore fans while we wait for Infinite’s issues to be addressed.

Dude I just want them to add in the remaining Halo: Online maps. All would be well in the world should they do it (I mean they definitely WILL eventually, right??). Other objectives would be getting flood and elites into ODST firefight. And I know this is a controversial statement, but I’d love to see them wrap H5: Forge into MCC at the very least. That way they could open up H5 custom games to a wider PC audience.

That and custom game browser for H2 and mod support for Xbox

343 hasn’t said anything since December. It’s unclear what the long term plan is. They have said they will be supporting mcc this year but they have been tight lipped about the changes to come.

Cgb, firefight updates and other fixes are in the cards but we haven’t had any new content for a few weeks now.

it’s not controversial, it’s something the devs already confirmed they’re never going to do, and is something the vast majority of MCC players don’t want in the first place. no one denies Halo 5 should to be brought to Steam, but it shouldn’t be gutted and crammed through MCC to make it happen.

I agree with adding in the remaining Halo: Online maps (Reactor and Skybridge, maybe Diamondback) and getting both the Flood and Elites (as well as the Spec Ops Grunts and Brute Trackers) into ODST firefight being the best thing they could do this year though, among other things.

I Agree. Halo 5 forge should definitely be brought to steam. I didn’t know there was a version of it on PC until like 2 days ago. If it were on steam, I would have gotten it a LONG time ago. Also, if they were to add it to MCC, They would first need to finish adding everything else in the MCC before taking something like that on, otherwise we will end up with a buggy mess of a game! So, if they just add it to Steam that’s plenty good enough for me.

The complete radio silence since December tells me that 343 has already abandoned MCC again in favor of the new Halo. Happened when Halo 5 came around, and it looks like it’s happening with Infinite.
I understand if these features take time… but adding in H2, H2A and H4 to CGB isn’t nearly as much work as adding in Elites and Flood into ODST’s Firefight. Both of these features are highly-requested, and we’ve received word that they would be coming. But with how much time has passed since then, can we even be sure they’re living up to their word?
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they wouldn’t. They’re updating MCC for free. The only source of money they get from it is through people buying the game. Meanwhile with Infinite, they have a store that sells items that players have to buy with real money. Plus, I’m fairly sure Infinite has more players than MCC. From this perspective, it makes total sense if they abandoned it. At this point, I’m just waiting for them to give the word.

No. That would be unacceptable.

Microsoft has 2.3 TRILLION and everyone at 343i is paid. They’re milking us hard with Infinite, a wildly unfinished title. If they care about the fans, their legacy/reputation and their integral IP; then they will complete their apology and finish updating the MCC with everything it still needs.

A not too long delay due to needing all hands on deck to get Infinite to be not a dumpster fire? I’m not happy about that but I can understand. Abandon MCC? Absolutely unacceptable.

Radio silence doesn’t mean abandonment. They’ve stated some titles like H2C have more game specific problems with CGB than others. IIRC a unified in-game team change option is more complicated than you would think. The team has said they are supporting the MCC throughout 2022. Mod tools are coming, easier consumption of mods is coming, ODST Flood FF is coming, CGB support is coming, and bug fixes are coming. Stop with this doom and gloom.

For what it’s worth here is the latest that Postums has said on the matter.

Hey! Nothing new right now to share. We are working on some bits and bobs around it in development and will have more to share in the future. But these features are still being iterated on at the moment.

Honestly until Infinite is the game we were promised it would be at launch, 343 can’t afford to abandon MCC, it’s the only genuine good will they have left with the community.

Taken from the latest community update. Safe to say we won’t see an insider update today, but hopefully before the month ends.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection ’s next game update is well underway! We are working with the Publishing Team to get all of the final details around when players can expect to see more content brought to this legacy collection. Right now, there are some amazing things cooking that players have been asking questions about. We’ll have more to say soon, so stay tuned in the coming weeks for the next MCC Development blog which will shed light on plans for the MCC in 2022 and how that content is going to roll out!

Apparently in the most recent blog post by 343, they mentioned “something cooking in the pot” for MCC, hope it includes a fix to the main menu music and more content/bug fixes.

For me, fixing Gearbox’s mistake with CE’s graphics (which were especially an noticeable in campaign) was one of the most important task’s they’ve completed, but it’s difficult to get excited about anything MCC-related when the entire multiplayer component revolves almost completely around the massively outdated and woefully inefficient matchmaking system. Allowing community-hosted dedicated servers is absolutely something that could be done if it were as high a priority for 343/-Yoink!- as it ought to be, but instead, we’re left with a shell of a server-browser that is even less feature-complete than what CE and H2’s original PC-release browser had. I know before I stopped playing MCC for the most part, last year, it was literally easier and faster for me to log onto the original CE on PC to hop into a match of CTF than wait through matchmaking on MCC for a map/mode that might or might not be what I was hoping for.

Until the MCC provides the freedoms the nearly two-decade old CE on PC did, it won’t have anything near the almost two-decade lifespan the original CE on PC also has. It’s just so frustrating to see a platform that could last for years-and-years withering away so quickly because of the omission of such a basic yet vital feature. The fact that such a feature is missing and nearly zero communication is provided for a PC game just rubs salt in the wound.

Still taking a break from MCC, but always going to hope 343/MS make the right decision here, eventually!

Hope everyone’s doing well; see ya’ll around!
