Please Let me Join In Progress

Please let me join another Team Snipers match on Haven where the score is 410 to 200. Good to see absolutely NOTHING is being done about the garbage JIP system.

I don’t mind being dropped into games where either team is losing by, like, two kills, but if it’s something ridiculous like twenty, I calmly back out and reflect on why JIP is just not something I like in Halo…

And when my friend’s little brother rips the ethernet cord out of his xbox and he’s able to rejoin the match, I remember why I enjoy Join in progress.

When a team mate leaves at the beginning of a CTF match before anything has started and a player joins in I remember why I love join in progress.

Do we get into matches that are like 5 million to 3, yes. But when it’s needed and used properly it’s damn good.

You’re exactly right. It’s a handy feature the 10% of the time it works correctly. That “10%” is exaggerating a bit too.

I agree with your points though. I think it’s mostly just about adding it to the right game types.

I wouldn’t think it would be hard for JIP to determine which games to throw people into. At the very least, take it out of FFA games within the first 1-2 minutes of the game. It isn’t hard to make up a few kills but getting thrown in when the leading guy has 15 is really annoying :frowning:

It makes no sense for game types like SWAT, where the threshold score to get in the game may be 200, but it takes about 60 seconds to actually join the game, and in a SWAT match, 300 points could be scored in 60 seconds.
