PLEASE leave core Reach the way it is

You are speaking to someone who was old enough to buy to buy Halo ce when I was in my 20’s and have enjoyed them all and found the addition of AA to be a positive for game play.I honestly beleive that those who hate it the most vent their frustration on forums i the form of hate because they are unable utilize them as well as other, thus the dislike.

bloom was good in theory but the mechanics of it didn’t work as it was meant to and the effects of aim assist and bullet magnetism just ment that a player can spam with no need to controll there aim because the game does the majority of the work while spamming.

i agree with you that some armour abilities are a good addition to halo but 2 or 3 aren’t and mess up the gameplay to much.

My stats are better in reach, but it is still broken. It has nothing to do with utilizing them. The best players in Arena will tell you jet-pack needs to go. The best players in the game will tell you bloom is random. Your argument could not be more invalid. It is actually the terrible/ new players that utilize the crutches given to them to get cheap kills.

I know how to bloom. It is still random. Even if I use my perfect cadence I can still lose to spammer, that is why bloom is broken. Every battle has randomness in it because the optimal ROF is not pacing.

but…but…halo CEA is out soon, and then 4 will be upon us before we know it.
Cant you leave reach alone? CEA will give you the classic gameplay you desire, and i hope 4 is satisfactory for all you Reach haters. I respect your opinions and understand you feel Bungie had taken Halo towards wrong direction. But whats done is done. Leave Reach alone and im sure you will be happy with the classic elements in CEA and hopefully Halo4.

I really like Reach and changing it now isnt really gonna satisfy the people who hate it or bring back the population who gave up on it. only a new title can do that! All it will do is annoy the people who DO play it because they like it…
i assume the people who do play it now days, do like it…or what would be the point in playing a game you dont enjoy?

why leave it alone if it can be fixed or improved to give the remaining community a more enjoyable experience?

Haunted stop talking about yourself like your opinion reflects the entire pop. The kids got a point.

I was 16 when Halo came out, I’ve been in more mutliplayer matches than either of us can count and happen to like Reach because it is different. Because I paid attention I knew from the get go that Reach was different. Here’s how I see it, there is Halo, and there is Reach. Just because it’s different doesn’t mean it’s bad.

In the future please be more respectful in your opinions.

Wise words of wisdom.

> First off: stop using “vocal minority” to address all people that are dissatisfied with Reach. It is true that it seems like more players hate Reach than like it because there are more threads about “Reach sucks” than about how good it is as a result of threads about “I love Reach sooo much <3” being irrelevant.
>
> “Vocal Minority” is only applicable to the people that are dissatisfied with Reach ON A FORUM. There is a big difference; there are actually people that dislike Reach without feeling the need to vent their brain out on a forum aka “vocalize” their opinion that actually contribute to a larger fraction of the Reach community.

>
> Next: Why do people use “well it wont be long until Halo 4 comes out” as an excuse to keep Reach the way it is? Thats no excuse: not only does doing this anniversary tell 343 what style would be better for Halo 4 (due to popularity) and prevent them from making future “mistakes”, but it would give people what they want and make Reach, to some, an actual success.
>
> I also don’t understand why it is a problem to anyone if there will be a vanilla Reach AND an anniversary Reach. Seriously…why?
>

> Finally: There is way too much opinion being pressed off as fact in this thread. The logic behind “something isn’t broken because I don’t mind it” doesn’t stop something from being broken just as much as “something is broken because I hate it” from actually being fine.
> There is a great amount of flaw in both statements because there are two completely different types of players giving their opinions. Ex: If bloom isn’t something that bothers you when you play something like Squad Slayer, it doesn’t mean that your opinion is as applicable to something that plays competitive MLG and vise versa; that is a simple, very broad example.

I liked that. Also nice soft/hard taco plug.

Hello everyone, I have a few things to say about the changes being made to Halo Reach.

One thing I don’t want changed though is the melee. Reach is well balanced and Bungie did a good job in considering different styles of playing. Some like using melee as a powerful up close arsenal while others prefer snipers for example. The two hit melee puts balance in the game as a way to defend against power weapons and as a way to complement a particular style where players like myself use it effectively in both skill, reflexes, and tactically. Thus, changing it to a three hit melee will take this away.

I like the melee because I like getting up close to players, it is my style in a way and I don’t think it would be just to simply throw that away. Others may complain but there is everything for everyone in reach and there is something to compliment everyone’s way of playing reach. That’s one of the greatest reasons on why I respect Bungie so much. They show profound insight and a great deal of compassion with all the players of the Halo Reach universe. Even though I do greatly enjoy the previous halo games, I like Reach best because of this in depth understanding and appreciation of our diverse Spartans.

They went above and beyond to study and understand the full diversity of the community and our different ways of playing and approaching reach. Those complaining about the two hit melee, stop complaining and try to understand other players! Even though I can understand 343 Industries and Certain Affinity still, changing the two hit melee into a three hit melee will rid halo reach of players like myself and our unique brush stroke.

Many of us in the video game community sometimes feel heavyhearted and let down due to the lack of the industry unable to fully understand and appreciate the immense diversity and and different approaches and thinking that we the community/players bring to the table.

Anyways going back to point at hand, as small as the two hit system is, it is a very vital and immensely diverse tool that;

 1. Helps bring a strong balance to the game when one team hogs all of the power weapons and (repeatably)spawn kill. (which unfortunately happens almost all the time)It gives the opposite team a chance.

 2. Gives Spartans a fair shot at battling and hijacking vehicles.

 3. It shows an appreciation and respect to diversity within us and our different brush strokes by allowing players like myself to feel at home with other Spartans and it allows my mastery to be a part of my experience in Reach multiplayer.

 4. It gives more options to all the different game types in Halo Reach like slayer, Flag, Assault, etc… by being able to drop shields with one hit and making your second choice thereafter.

 5. It adds some “realism” feel to Halo Reach. Anyone with real combat experience like myself knows how far more powerful hand to hand combat is as appose to weaponry. While weapons may be powerful, hand to hand far surpasses it when up close. Unless you have a shotgun blast up in your face then you may think twice }:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

 6. Both helps and inspires with team work. One Spartan drops your shields and the other head-shots opponent giving the ability to clear the room.

 7. Goes perfectly well with the entire flow of the Halo Reach experience and game play which Bungie worked their butts off to nail. (watch interviews and commentaries from Bungie website)

 8. Ties nicely with the story and characters of Halo Reach. You don’t think a Spartan from Halo can’t kill you with two melee strikes? Just add ancient martial arts to the Spartan and you have an unstoppable one man/woman army }

Thanks for listening to my ramblings but I must repeat that the 2 melee system should be kept as is or the whole infrastructure will have to be tweaked to continue offering the experience it does today and understanding/appreciation it does today.

On a small note I like the sword a lot but the changes they have in mind would be interesting even though I think allowing players an option to either also have a sword or other ways of defending against a sword user would greatly benefit the balance and well planned structure of Halo Reach Multiplayer.

Mind you, this isn’t to say that Reach can’t be improved. I do realize that their are plenty of subtle yet vital unbalances which probably should be considered. Then again, we are all such a big community that finding the “right” balance may really just a perspective of what “right balance” is. I am interesting to see what the new takers of Reach will do. They have their own unique Brush Stroke to offer as well so lets give them a shot and see whats up. Anyways thats the end of my rampage }

Kudos to the new undertakers of Halo Reach and Halo Universe
