PLEASE leave core Reach the way it is

agreed. ive only been playing Reach because of the population… i cant play a game of swat beacuse there is a total of 50 people playing it… so that means i cant get my 50 back… screw Reach!

Well Bloom is not working as intended, not an opinion, Stated by 343, so that’s one
Same thing with Armor lock. So if you want to argue that, be my guest.

No one said we are the majority, Stop assuming. We are quite aware we make up a small number of the players.

Well When I do go on game chat, Its usually “end of reason” you are a _________________. Etc

So can’t just ask them that when they are spouting stuff at me.

I’m pretty sure they are, though i hope to see 85% bloom in vanilla Reach.

All my friends are good
All my friends hate bloom

But i guess good players really are the minority, eh?

Most if not all good players hate bloom/AA.

There are those players who were not that great, say a 45 in halo 3, who play reach and like it not because of its mechanics, but because reach makes them feel like a great player. What has really happened is the skill gap went down and you are now competing with people that usually destroy you (in previous halo games). If these players admit reach is broken, they also have to except that they really are not that good.

You also have to accept that most good players just stopped playing. ALL(not 1 or 2) of my veteran halo friends(since H2) were disgusted with Reach and moved on.

You may say well that’s just your friends. Take a look at the real competitive playlist in reach. They are nothing compared to H2 and H3. The most popular playlist is Zombies.

> I know there are a lot of longtime Halo fans that hate vanilla Reach. I wasn’t a big fan at first either, but I’ve grown to enjoy it a lot, and I really don’t wanna see the core Reach game changed because of a vocal minority. I can understand adding 85% bloom, zero bloom, or bleed-through melee to the Classic playlists, but please leave the core game like it is. If 343i wants to go back to more classic Halo, wait until Halo 4. Reach is a nice change of pace and I don’t wanna see it ruined because a small percentage of the fanbase doesn’t like it.

I agree, the core of Reach should be left alone. Let the TU lovers have a playlist of what they like, but other than that I want Reach to stay the same. I’ve adapted sorta to the TU and am okay with the exception of no bloom, but I want the rest of reach to stay the same.

Disregarding all the posts above me, I agree with OP, that 343 can do whatever they want do, but at least have core Reach (as unbalanced as it is) on its own. I bought Reach just to have fun trolling everyone else with a full armour lock / jetpack team. I bought Reach to laugh at people who pace their DMR shots. I bought Reach to run + double melee everyone to death. Please do not take this away.

That said, having changes are good. Broken things should be fixed. But before throwing the broken jar away at least give it to people who want it.

To all those that do not like Reach, why the crap are you playing Reach then? There are tons of other competitive shooters on the market right now. Go play them instead of flaming a game you don’t like.

> > > Saying it’s improved is only an opinion. Believe me, I want Halo 4 to go back to Halo 2 style gameplay as much as anyone, but changing Reach like they have without some more major changes makes it worse. I’m fine if they do stuff as long as it stays within the classic playlists. I don’t want the changes being universal.

Bloom
AAs in general
Banshee
Tedious forge glitches
Pressure pushing glitch
Revenent bullet magnetism

Shall I go on?

i have a question, why are people annoyed at other people for wanting the game fixed and improved?

DMR’s only, no grenades, no other weapons. flat terrain in a large box with no cover. the fight takes place at midrange (lets say 20 feet ingame) and as soon as it starts player A starts spamming his DMR like a mad man. how does player B his guarantee a win this fight?

1 As in life,in battle there are no guarantees, you could set up a scenerio where you put two players in a room, one with a gun,one without and eventually the one without a gun would kill the other at some point. The better man does not always win, even in video games.
2 Yeah right, the guy plays 2000 games of the most hated halo(his opinion)for research so he can have a better understanding of the game when he comes on a forum to discuss it and make suggestions.I suppose all that knowledge is what made him come to the determination that the majority of reach players are irrelevant, and should not be considered when designing a video game. That make sense.(no it doesnt)
3 Oh the humanity,oh what an abject failure, what an insult to the halo brand puts back of hand to forehead how will the halo player ever be able to face the world knowing that it is in 5th place in the world?Thats it you conviced me,it was the hype, all this time I thought I was having fun playing a sweet video game(thanks bungie, seriously)but really I had the out of balanced, overpowered wool pulled over my eyes.Im going to go play CoD…No Im not,its slayer time :stuck_out_tongue:

> i have a question, why are people annoyed at other people for wanting the game fixed and improved?

I dont think the problem is with attempting to fix the game(fixing or improving is a matter of opinion),its the insults and the allegations of ignorance that bother people the most, surely you must see that.

> i have a question, why are people annoyed at other people for wanting the game fixed and improved?

> any bloom at all is dumb moron

Because of insulting comments like this.

the person in the room with a gun will win if the person without the gun has no skill, if the person without the gun new how to fight(skill) he could either kill him with his bare hands or use his skill to steal his gun and shoot him instead.
see, most skill full person would come out on top even though your scenario presented was awfull and unbalanced.

why do people continue to try and make a science fiction first person shooter in to a realistic modern day shooter? it doesn’t make any sense, people keep banging on about this not be realistic, that being realistic and so on but geuss what, this is a sci-fi not a modern shooter!

what does real life have to do with game anyway? people play games to escape from reality and to have fun, if i wanted any realistic elements i would go join the army…

ever considor he does actually enjoy the game but thinks and knows there is something wrong that should be adressed so he voicing his thoughts to help fix or make the game better?

nice sarcasm.

> If 343i is actually dumb enough to change Reach completely I will have lost all faith in them. Who do you think would be more pissed off? The people who where dumb enough to buy something they don’t like, or the the people who bought a game they liked completely and had it changed? I bet people who like any of the previous Halo games would be pissed off if that happened to their games, and I would too! Adding stuff is fine, but Reach stays as I and many others bought it.

We are all a part of the community, and the community owns Halo.

If the vocal majority hates the game, then obviously something is wrong with it. It;s dumb for people to buy a game they know they hate, but obviously we’ve bought it long before we had a solid opinion on it. Furthermore, it’s even dumber for 343 to ignore the large amount of vocal complaints. Someone might be fine with it, but the vocal majority isn’t. And when the vocal majority seems to despise a game, that’s a hint for developers to get their -Yoink- fixed.

People, people calm down.

Reach will have the changed playlists and they will have Vanilla Reach playlists. There is no use in arguing if everyone is getting what they want.

the exact same thing can be said for the people who think there is nothing wrong with reach and people who say things are broken is just an opinion even though it’s a fact.

though the “moron” bit was unneeded but what is wrong with him saying bloom is dumb?

if you don’t like the changes they are making you don’t have to play them. they are keeping default reach playlists.

I personally love what 343 is trying to do here and support them 100%

Yeah that’s fine for people to complain. However, 343i has listened and given you a peace offering. Take it and leave the rest of Reach alone.

so instead of having a fixed game we should have a broken game?

uh… no.

I liked Reach the way it was when it came out, when armor lock was useful and you had to pace your shots, but I see the need to create a CE playlist for CEA’s multiplayer.
