Please keep REQs out of Arena

So if you didn’t see today’s Xbox Daily or the 15-minute Warzone demo IGN posted, you don’t know what REQs are. If you do know, skip to the next paragraph. If you don’t, stay here. REQs, or requisitions, are the ability to use cards you earn to spawn in any weapon (or vehicle if applicable) depending on your REQ Level, which increases as you earn points in games. For example, if I reach REQ Level 9 and I earn a Rocket Launcher card, I can spawn in rockets once I spawn back up. You don’t get infinite REQs, but you earn “cards”. For example, if I have 1 BR card, I can only spawn in a BR once until I earn more BR cards.

REQs are basically a replacement to loadouts. I saw IGN’s thing before I saw Xbox Daily, so I was ok with it until I saw Xbox Daily. My only gripe with it is that REQs aren’t staying within Warzone. They’re coming everywhere, even to Arena. I hate this! I don’t want some guy on the other team to spawn in and wreck us all with his rockets that he can get off the bat! I want equal starts, just like the beta gave us.

Spawning in these power weapons or vehicles from the get-go is designed for a PvE(vP) gamemode like firefight or Warzone. When you have so much to handle at one time, you don’t have time to search for power weapons. You need all the firepower you can get to take on massive waves of Covenant and Prometheans and also the other team AT THE SAME TIME. Putting REQs in 4v4 / 8v8 / 12v12 multiplayer? That’s just silly and unfair isn’t it? This is feeling like it’s going to turn into Halo 4’s loadouts all over again, and Halo 5 will lose population fast if REQs stray away from just Warzone.

To make matters worse, it looks like you will be able to spawn in legendary weapons. After you pick a weapon you choose what class of said weapon you want. This likely means you can spawn in Prophet’s Bane and the SPNKr Rocket Launcher. I’m playing on Truth and I don’t feel like risking a death running through top mid to grab Prophet’s Bane. I’ll just spawn one in with my available REQ points. That’s stupid! Do you really want this happening in 4v4 Arena Multiplayer? Players need to fight for the power weapons, not just be handed them right from their spawn. I was so excited for this game, and unfortunately all the news from E3 is starting to ruin that.

Keep REQs inside of Warzone, a massive gamemode that they were designed for. Don’t bring them into every other gamemode, where they will take the power out of power weapons, since everyone will basically have equal access to them from the get-go. What happened to equal starts? Please, 343. Don’t let Halo 5 follow Halo 4.

Ummm…I don’t know where you heard that they’d be in Arena. Requisition Cards can be earned through playing in the Arena, but they can only be used in Warzone. Don’t worry, Arena will be very similar to the beta, and will feature no Req Cards or other uneven spawning features. Those are restricted to the Warzone.

Bro chill. Arena and Warzone are two entirely separate modes. You’re not gonna see REQs in Arena because REQs are for Warzone, you should probably watch their making-of Warzone vidoc.

Hoping you’re right, I must have misinterpreted what Holmes said during Daily. I’ll have to watch it again.

If you watch the making-of vid, it clarifies a ton of stuff. It’s a good watch and can be found pretty much everywhere, including the webpage dedicated to Halo 5 on the Waypoint website. No worries about misinterpretations. I’m sure you’re not the only one.
