Make it commendations only. no game complete. I’m so tired of these people in firefight who hide the whole match, get a few kills then AFK, or simply run around teabagging / shooting us / getting in our way the whole match. I’ve had a Nova and a Reclaimer just shoot me and -Yoink!- in front of me constantly being in my way the whole match for christ sakes. No matter how many of these stupid kids you avoid you still run into more. Half the time you run into the same ones because avoiding doesn’t work properly. Either stop paying them for doing nothing, or give us a way to report them. If all the true firefight players could report the bags of -Yoink- to someone and actually have them dealt out bans and resets, we could at least thin them out. Really. Why even play a game if you’re not going to do anything? If you’re just going to be a little troll, go get mommy to buy you a different game to play.
I wish they’d stop doing firefight challenges too. At minimum, Flat Tire and the one for finishing an FF without dying need to go. Survival ones for obvious reasons, and Flat Tire because they made it hard enough to finish Grounded without casuals coming in and running for all the vehicles because there’s a stupid challenge. I’m tired of people who could care less about their commendations snatching vehicle kills anyway. It’s one thing if it happens to be in your face, it’s another to make a point of running across the map to kill it for no reason or because it’s worth like 2000 points on the score.
Last night, right before the match starts, i get a message from a field marshall.
“leave or i’ll hack you”
I can only think because of my rank i would get such a message.
Here’s something that really makes me mad,
The kid with the toaster for a router is afking the whole match. So, you are not only afking, but now youre pulling the rest of us down with your crap box connection.
I think a lot of this has to do with bad parenting.

Holy cow, if the game is full of 7 and 3 year olds no wonder this stuff happens. Because you’ve got to be 3, or have the mind of a 3 year old, to think this kind of conduct in a game is cute / neat / funny.
I think the penalties for fire fight AFCers and MM quitters are far too lenient, and the situation is exacerbated by parents that allow little children that do not have the mental maturity or intelligence needed to play the game correctly to play it.
The game is rated M / mature by the ESRB: “MATURE Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.” http://www.esrb.org/ratings/ratings_guide.jsp
People who do not meet that definition are the problem. I would hope no adult would behave like I see randoms behaving.

Then there are people that are just stupid. I was doing Arcade on Courtyard, running Rockets + Needler. I hang down around the bend (where target locater is on Campaign). I find it easiest to survive and clear the map fast if I’m on the sidewalk against the inside of the bend right about in the middle every time the new wave spawns. There are probably 6 possible spawns right there. I can wipe the 2 or 3 groups that appear, reload, and work my way up. I stay on that side though. I don’t get caught out in the middle when the next wave starts. 2 of the randoms quit, and the other guy stayed a while. Never said anything. As the last wave of the 3rd round comes in, he’s like “Why don’t you get out of the corner and do something, you -Yoink-”. “Uh. Look at the score, buddy. I’m the one at the top with 40k. You have 28.” He quit right then. Quit during the last wave. I just laughed and enjoyed a bonus round all alone. Only time I died that whole match was in the bonus round. 3 perfections and top score.

And when they keep jumping in your way so you suicide off them with a rocket launcher? I don’t need credits. I’m an Inheritor. I want to actually finish the match. I don’t want some numnut AFKing so half the enemies are up in the base spawn killing them and we have to go hunt them down every wave. I don’t want people getting 300 points and hiding for perfections while others do all the work. That’s definitely not right. I earn mine. They should too. If they want to give me a full set or more with bonus round(s) in score attack and drop the time limit crap, I’d love to play alone, but I’m not playing that pissy single round garbage with the same exact spawn sets every wave.

Yeah, I seem to remember putting you on my avoid list recently. FYI, I’ve eaten while playing and still held up my end of the match. Some maps I’ve sniped one handed while eating sandwiches and still landed top score over people spamming FRGs and rockets.
How am I a nub? How am I bad? My KD stayed positive even through maxing out assassinations and AR kills. I don’t care if I can take on MLG -Yoink- all the time. I have no desire to. I just do what I enjoy in the game. I don’t care about W/L or my KD for that matter. I don’t camp lifts with shotguns etc like other people do for their sprees and KD. I’ve put 125 DAYS of playtime on this thing. I play the way I play, and I’m tired of people talking -Yoink- cause all they play is matchmaking.
MM is not the only part of this game. Shoot! I would like to see some of these MMing kids face off 12-16 3rd round elites without eating it.

if i want to play this game anyway i want, i/we should be able to play without pressure or expectation, in any gametype.
Its -Yoink- that forerunners and above are still treated with hostility, grief’d, or talk trash to, only because we enjoy a game and have the time to play it.
How is it ok in the minds of these people, to sit and shoot someone else for 20 minutes, while they are trying to have a good time.
I agree. It’s really quite sad and pathetic that children these days “play” a game by not playing it. They should get a gradually increasing ban from a playlist everytime they AFK. Why spend $40-60 for a game to not play it? If you don’t enjoy the game enough to play it, then trade it in. It’s pretty simple. Giving players cR for game completions was the worst decision made.
Payouts for firefight should be based on performance and reduced by number of deaths. That’s what firefight is about.

Which would render FF MM near dead apart from the boosters, since the population numbers clearly spike when there are challenges. Not to mention removing challenges such as “Be my Huckleberry” and the shotgun challenge makes FF turn into nothing but “pick the FRG and go”. As diverse as playing Pong against the CPU.

The “finish a round/set without dying” is plain stupid. All you need to do is sit at spawn with rockets or a fuel rod gun. It encourages camping so hard and makes the game boring.
I think you’re slightly mad at the flat tire one. People will always go to kill the wraith first off because it helps their comms and score. They would do this regardless.

I’d rather find real FF players in FF than idiots that are only there for challenges and can’t stay alive more than 10 seconds or do anything halfway effective to progress through the rounds before the stupid timer runs down. They need to just drop the timer thing and deal with the AFKers properly. If it’s gonna be one set, I want the whole bloody set. I’m tired of giving up perfections and bonus rounds because we’re at the last wave or almost and run out of time. Real firefight players are just gonna turn around and play another match anyway, so why not let us finish the one we’re freaking in?
Do what I do: Play Score Attack. I, a person who does do relatively well in Firefight, should not be punished with less credits just because some noobs were being immature. I honestly don’t care if someone gets credits unfairly, it doesn’t affect me.

Read much? I already said Score Attack is garbage. If I do anything alone, I use a guest to get full arcade matches alone in Doubles. I’d gladly do Limited that way too if they got rid of the -Yoink- time limit. I refuse to play pissy single round matches in Score Attack. I want full length. I want bonus rounds. I want an Unlimited type where the only thing limited is lives, NOT time, NOT sets.
