I never wanted to play with PC players. The real cross play I wanted was PlayStation and Xbox but of course the rich folks that are in charge insisted on having a meaningless console war.

It wasn’t originally meant to be meaningless. Each console originally meant to be new ways to innovate hardware. ps2 and Xbox were fundamentally different. ps2 was built like the consoles of old, but the Xbox was like a PC. So the ps3 med the cell archetecture chips and it made the graphics better than the Xbox 360. But developers were more used to the familiar pc-like 360 so most third party ps3 games had problems. The ps3 also used blu-ray while 360 had to use multiple disks and even download entire chunks of the game off the internet. However, ever since the ps4/xbox One era, both systems are basically PC’s… so yeah, it is meaningless now. Even the Switch is fundamentally PC architecture now.
I just wish controllers would add gyro aiming. Doom 2016 spoiled me and I would definitely buy a new xbox controller for my PC if it had gyro.

Cross play was possible back then. Final Fantasy XI was a full cross play MMORPG game back in the day for PS2, 360 and PC. But I wasn’t really referring to the older consoles, I meant the more recent generations that are obviously more modernized. Once both hardware was on the same level, they should have let bygones be bygones. The whole “war” thing was mostly just media BS that came about because it was two tech giants clashing over tech.
