Well my friends Halo 4 copy is damaged (it’s having a scratch) and it is having major sound issues! But the xbox 360 can read it and determine that it is a Halo 4, but can’t install it due to being scratched! So i would like to ask, if i sign in to my firend’s gamertag, with his HDD, and install my copy of Halo 4 in his HDD, will it be able to work then with his own disk? I mean if the xbox reads that he has his (damaged) disk inside and play it through my installed game? Also is it bannable or illegal to do this? Any help would be fine!! Thanks for your time!

I think it is not illigal since you need a copy of the disk, And he has it.
Btw its not stealing right you are helping someone…

o wait i forgot too tell you i did the same thing you are trying to do but with halo 3 and it worked so good luck
I am only worried because i don’t know if it reads a serial number or something like the disk’s ID, and then the systems says that there are 2 different GT’s with the same serial?? Something like that but i don’t know…i’m gonna try that though and hope it works! Thanks for the replies guys and Merry Christmas
