Please help. Application Error 0xc0000005

Hi, I’m getting this application failed to start error ‘0xc0000005’ whenever I try to launch MCC. I have no idea what’s causing this. It’s happened before not too long ago and I resolved it by doing doing Command Prompt ‘sfc /scannow’ which found and fixed something that was corrupted. It’s not finding anything corrupted this time though.

  • ‘sfc /scannow’ not fixing it.

  • disabling antivirus not fixing it.

  • full scan has not found any malware.

  • all drivers are up to date; except for BIOS, could that somehow be causing this issue?

If someone can please help me resolve this I’d really appreciate it.

Uh okaaay. Weirdly I seem to have fixed it by simply doing Windows Cleanup Recommendations. Which was some old Steam installs and just a few things like Windows Movies & TV, on my OS C-Drive. Now it’s working. Were the old Steam installs on C-Drive confusing the Steam directory somehow? (I install games onto D-Drive although I think Steam itself is installed on C-Drive.)
