Please Help 343I My fileshare is still broken.

Everything has been going fine, I’m not the type of person who ever tagged profanity on files or even uploaded rude titles. I have Bungie Pro and everything was as it should be. Until I noticed a problem today.

My File Share

I tried to upload a file and got this message.

> The name of the creator of the file is not allowed on xbox live

Now everything has been working with my Gamertag. I have never had problems or ever been banned. I have had no notification or e-mail about a ban. Does my Gamertag have some filter on it now? And can it be removed? I’m very upset by this, I only recently paid for bungie pro.

I have contacted Xbox Customer Support and they told me to email Bungie. This is why I’m making a thread here.

If anyone from 343i can shed light on my situation it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

EDIT: My halo 3 fileshare still works and i can still tag on reach.

This is something that has been happening since launch and for some reason, 343i, Bungie & Xbox Support have no idea what causes it, it was suggested that changing your gamertag would fix it put apparently not.

Can I ask you what the file name you are trying to upload is, it’s just that sometimes if your name & the file name are put together can spell out censored words which can sometime result in this error.

The file name was Nice Killtrocity, put i’ve tired uploading various clips today. I always get the message. I also asked my GF to download one of my files and try to upload and that didn’t work. It’ to do with my gamertag.

My gamertag is my username
“coca mola”

I phoned customer support, they said -Yoink!- has no filter on my tag.

I mean what is the name of the file your trying to upload to your File Share.

Sorry check edit.

Same thing happened to me.

There is no fix for it. You can get 800MSP from Microsoft to “change your gamertag”, though. I just used it to get the Noble Map Pack =/.

Hmmm, sounds like nothing is wrong with the name.

I was just curious because the way the censor works is like this,

Say if your Gamertag is Banana Fu, you would be unable to have a file called: ‘Ck Clan Map’ as you would spell the F Word.

Hmmm, sounds like your stuck then, the only way would to change your Gamertag or make a back up account and upload to that file share and add the people who you want to see it to download it from there.

Or you could attempt to change your Gamertag but that isn’t 100% guaranteed to work.

Oh! I just tried changing my Motto on Xbox LIVE to your gamertag, it seems it is not aloud.

I tried it with just coca and that is blocked too, it seems coca has been added to the censor list

It’s a Microsoft problem right now, you would need to somehow convince them to take it off the censor list.

Hey Little Moa, thanks for all the help you’ve been giving my boyfriend. I had a feeling it was to do with the ‘coca’ part of his Gamertag.

coca without the a is just coc… add a k and you’ve got yourself a naughty word.

When he rang the customer helpline he was told it had nothing to do with Xbox Live. However, if you were unable to have ‘coca’ in your motto, then the gentleman my boyfriend spoke to must have been mistaken. He said it was down to Bungie’s filter. Hmm.

Regardless, I’m not happy about him getting punished when he’s done nothing wrong, so I’ve simply bought him a capture card lol.

Hopefully this mistake won’t happen to other people (I won’t be buying capture cards for everyone haha).

Anyway, thanks again for your help. =)

I hope it can be fixed. :frowning:

Oh hello  Sorry for not catching your reply, I never thought of the coc thing, I suppose in Microsoft’s eyes they saw using an ‘a’ was bypassing the censor.

It’s a shame really.

@coca mola who has replied I think, the only possible solution right now would be to actually change your Gamertag considering it’s now related to the censor and not Reach’s censors.

Problem is, 800 Points of your money for a stupid mistake were Microsoft should force people to change their names if part of it is in the Censor List.

Sorry I couldn’t help further.

I have the same problem!

This is a little trick my friend used, but if your gamertag has a part in it that would sound like a First or Last name in real life, change your Xbox LIVE Name on the Personal Info to for example, Mark Assist.

Call Xbox Support and say, I know this was against the Code of Conduct but I am worried for my own accounts safety considering my Gamertag contains my real life name, they should offer you a free gamertag change either on the spot or it will apply to your account as soon as you login to Xbox LIVE.

If they don’t let you and say you will need to pay, hang up and ring again until you get it done.

What i don’t get guys. Is why does this not effect Halo 3? I check Halo 3 and i can still upload there. It seems to be with reach.

Censors probably don’t get put into effect on old games.

Hmmmm, That may be the case. But if it was XBL updating it seems odd that i’m only effected by reach.

Any luck with it today or is it still on the censors?

Nope still the same :frowning:
