There were not a lot of maps when Halo 4 launched and 343 already had map packs ready which i dont understand why they didnt just put them out on launch.

Actually they started on the map packs when the game launched. i still dont understand this mindset, they arent EA.

So that they could make money off the Crimson map pack, and get started on the 3 map packs that were to be included with the War Games Map Pass. Also, Certain Affinity developed Crimson DLC, not 343.
Well they should if BTB is going to be a better and bigger BTB with the new player capability of the XBOne.
Halo 4 didn’t have any fewer maps at launch than any other Halo game. The problem is that the majority of maps, DLC included, just aren’t that fun to play on.
What are your thoughts on single player paid DLC? Personally, I’d buy it and I haven’t bought a single Halo 4 map pack.
I would argue along with alot of people that quality is more important than quantity. I’d rather have 7-8 great maps than 10-12 decent/bad ones (like Halo 3 vs Reach)

Part of it is also that they weren’t afraid to use some of the big team battle maps in 4v4.
Valhalla was one of my favorite maps for team slayer in Halo 3. Halo 4 adds sprint which is supposedly to make large maps more playable, and they decide “nope. Valhalla is too big now.” Take settler for example. I think you could actually argue that with one or two tweaks it would be a better 4v4 map than it is 8v8.
Reach started a trend of making the big team battle maps larger and more segmented. This results in smaller, more personal conflicts when you have large teams. When you have small teams it results in a lack of combat.
I mean, in Halo 4 they yanked Complex from the rotation, leaving the largest 4v4 map as Adrift. Think about that for a second.
