I don’t know if other people like the new color, but after seeing it, I really dislike it. Halo 5 had a beautiful blue team color, and I loved how it looked like Halo 2 again. In fact, I was so excited when I first played the Beta and saw that this was the Blue color they were using. The same color in the original Halo 4 ViDOC, before they changed that. Granted, the new one’s not as bad as the pastel of Halo 4, but I still really don’t like it. Additionally, with another player’s complaint that the new color actually physically harms his eyes, that’s a customer you just alienated, a paying customer who you physically are now preventing from playing your game.
If some people like it, fine. But for those of us who liked the way it was, or needed it the way it was, let us have the option to have that again in our settings, please.
I’ve read that players are harder to see in some maps because they blend to much into the back round. I myself haven’t noticed this. But it is a good idea to have the option to change which tone of blue is best because everyone see some colors differently.
Honestly, to me it’s not that big a deal. What they should’ve done was tone down on that gold colored shine when your are recharging. That’s when it’s hard to tell red from blue. Maybe I’m just old
@ OP - THANK YOU! I got put on blast for complaining about the color change. Boggles my mind how lame people can be. I would never criticize someone for saying a UI change bothers their eyes but of course, this is Waypoint…sooo…i digress
My eyes are sensitive and the new blue is too bright and makes it hard for me to adjust and literally bothers my eyes when playing now. Granted I have extremely sensitive eyes and I am aware that this might not impact everyone, but simply throwing a blanket statement like…“Adjust your TV brightness”…is ridiculous. Moreover, I am old now so it makes it that much harder than it would have been 10 years ago to adjust to a change like that. After playing Halo 5 non stop for 3 months my eyes were completely adjusted and I never had any issues locating Blue team. Changing it up like that has literally made the game unplayable for me. I cannot track the new sky blue properly and it is messing with my timing and depth perception. I am sure if I grinded away at it eventually my eyes would re-adjust, but I am not interested in spending two weeks getting thumped while my old man eyes try to adjust.
I am really surprised more people are not upset by this. You just do not change a core gameplay mechanic/function three months after launch. Changing the shade of Blue on Blue Team is a fundamental change to multiplayer. Some of you welcome the change and I respect that. Some of you barely notice it. Some of you are much younger and do not have eye sensitivity issues so there is no adjustment issues. Some of us were fine with the way things were and had no problem seeing things and were used to the way things looked. The change is too drastic. It is a shame they didn’t give us the option. Like a filter you can turn on or off.
I love Halo 5 and am a big 343 supporter but this change was too much. I will still recommend Halo 5 to anyone and everyone as I think it is the best shooter out there, but sadly, my time with the game has come to end because of this color change.
