I can honestly imagine how many people are calling me out for this lol
But in all truthfulness, I miss having ACTUAL map packs. You know, DLC that came with 3+ original and new maps?

I may be the minority on this, but free DLC to me doesn’t mean one single map (or even a remastered map of something we already have) that’s associated with 20+ new req cards. To me, free DLC means at LEAST 2+ new/original/non-forged maps, and a couple new permanent playlists. Also, for those who say I’m so entitled, why would you complain about getting all that stuff? It benefits us all, whether for 343 or against 343
As it stands, Noctus has already been out for how long and we’re NOW only getting a warzone assault variant for it. To all the people defending 343, at least answer me this: What was stopping them from adding it in before?
Here’s my theory… I’ve been hearing about how we get free updates till June… when June is over, what would you say if they started releasing paid DLC for $15 that contained 4-5 new maps? Not seeing that it will happen, but if it does, what will you say then?

It didn’t work out very well for Halo 4, and I would rather not spend more money on this game.
Dlc splits the community in MM. The biggest plus in having free dlc is everyone having all maps in all gamemodes. However I would appreciate more original maps for sure.
They already planned out they way DLC works in this game through micro transactions which pay for the DLC and the tournament prize pool. Plus they said that all the DLC for Halo 5 would be free and I don’t think they will change what was already promised. Maybe it will go back to the old pay for DLC method in Halo 6 if they receive to much backlash for the quality of the content after ever update like what is going on in the forums now.
I think it has all been a war on BTB. Warzone replaced it with the REQ system - a randomized reward card game based off non-randomized results (earned). They ‘gave’ us a staple of Halo in an update with BTB, like it was supposed to be a frickin’ gift from Heaven. But, it was with FORGED maps. I love forge, but im not a developer. I cant make a map for the Halo nation to all accept as DLC for their purchase. I work a day job. Apparently 343 feels Warzone is their bird no matter what. But hey, I gotta go. Incoming Prometheans!!! Wait, its just Warden Eternal… FML

Because it divides the community, not everyone will buy the DLC at the same time, so it causes problems when searching for matches, if it’s free and included in updates everyone has it.
you wish for paid DLC under the assumption that it would actually get your new maps, I believe that that would not be the case at all…maybe we would be getting warzone and warzone assault variants on one DLC but I think we would still be getting tons of remixes and tons of monotonous UNSC maps…
At this point, free updates, no matter the mediocre quality, are the best thing 343 has done in years!
I have never been a fan of paid DLC. I much prefer content updates, if we got free DLC then I’d be happy as -Yoink-.
In case you aren’t aware, free DLC is usually small Microtransactions that are free and totally optional. Saints Row IV has them and I believe a few cars in Forza. Content Updates are regular small updates with some content to keep the game alive with some irregular big updates. Examples are Minecraft, GTA V, and Halo 5.
I want the paid DLC packs back and remove the ability to buy req packs with money. The DLC packs ALWAYS gave us 3 new maps (sometimes the odd classic) and in later Halo 4 DLC packs, armour and weapon skins. If 343 even tried to use there current lazy/crappy free update stuff in a DLC pack it would backfire horribly as people would be beyond pissed off at them and refuse to buy them, which will cause 343 to loose money and realize they need to actually work instead of -Yoinking!- around and doing pretty much nothing all day.
And for those who say it will split up the halo communiy, good. You will have to true halo fans playing together while the others can stay in there own matchmaking, i shouldn’t have to suffer because you can’t spend a few £/$/€.
