My tag will now make absolutely no sense in-game, even for those who can decipher it. No other XBL game that I know of has done this. Please 343, for the sake of those who suffer from dsylexia and msyelf, change this! My tag should read “XINOHd” (PHONIX upside down) not “XINOHD” lol
Dyslexia is backwards…not upside down. I should know, I suffer from it.

I know of a couple XBL games that do that, but that’s besides the point. Capitalizing GT’s is dumb. Your GT should be displayed just how you made it, in all games.

People who have dyslexia experience it in different ways…
Wait, what? Names are now in CAPS in-game? That’s going to ruin my name too…LPROMETHEUSI instead of lPrometheusI…No thank-you.
Where did you hear this?
> Where did you hear this?
I noticed while watching live streams and multiplayer videos today.
I don’t really care, but I guess it could make some names look confusing.
Noooo… not my Gamertag, you monsters.
They’re going to fix this post launch. They’re testing rendering the gamertags in capital letters at first to measure the effect’s popularity, I think.

Did you intend to spell Phoenix wrong too?

Hope so :/, for some reason, It’s the little things that bug me.
That’s such an awesome gamertag, I won’t really mind the change because it won’t really effect me but what’s the point of it? Why did they make it all caps-lock?

I intended the misspelling of “Phonics”. Google it if you need.

Nice, where did you hear that?
This actually helps me.
Enough people calling the L in my name ‘i’.
And I don’t think Numbers change when they become capped. So I only have 1 letter that becomes capital, and that letter uncapitalized bugs me.

Yeah, Dyslexics are teople poo… lol
For me it would look better as I hate seeing mine in lower case for some reason but yeah I see your point.
Using all-caps on almost the entire GUI will cause problems for plenty of non-dyslexic people, as well.
It’s already common knowledge that the human brain processes uppercase letters slower than it does lowercase letters (since the latter are vastly more common). The effect is far more noticeable when long spans of text are rendered in all caps, but there are still slowdowns when small spans of text are rendered in all caps.
(A specific case: I just noticed that they’re using all-caps on the kill feed. Not a good idea. The kill feed is only useful if it’s as quickly-readable as possible, since you need to keep your focus on the on-screen action, so any slowdown, no matter how minute, is bad. That they’re doing it purely for stylistic reasons is even worse.)
Furthermore, anyone who’s been on XBL for more than a year should know how common fake "I"s and "L"s are in gamertags, and should expect players who use such gamertags to cry foul when the gamertags are rendered with incorrect capitalization.
There’s no benefit to forcing caps. It lowers legibility, usability, and the lookalike-symbol issue cancels out the minimal aesthetic gains. 343i should’ve known it was a bad idea from the start. :\
